About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to explore the beauty of the world around
ABOUT ME
I grew up in Hawaii until coming to the mainland for college. Although there are many challenges that force me to grow here, Hawaii will always be my home, even if I don't have a house there!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've moved up and down the West Coast, and have had to repeatedly make new friends and leave old friends. I hope to form new friendships, explore new cities with a local's perspective, and continue broadening my horizons.
In Portland I've moved back in with my parents, but when I get my own place again I hope to host travelers!
Interests
I love playing music. I love riding my bike places. I enjoy learning languages that hold personal meaning to me. I love being inventive when hanging out with friends. It's always more fun to do something that expends energy and running around than to get together and stuff my face. Now if you put the two together, that's the best!

Music, Movies, and Books
My long-time awesome author: Haruki Murakami. I've recently read Dead Wake and I like riveting books about ship disasters I guess. In 2016 my two fav books have been The Course of Love by Alain de Botton, and Tattoos on the Heart by Fr. Greg Boyle. for 2017: Grit by Duckworth, and Daring Greatly by Brene Brown.
movies: too many to name. Films with Matt Damon, Denzel, Clooney, Brad Pitt, Liam Neeson. films directed by Chris Nolan.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in Japan for a year, visiting off-the-beaten-path places.
I've lived a month in Guatemala and walked for miles backpacking into Lake Atitlan.
I've also driven to the top of a mountain on Kauai, Hawaii, near one of the wettest spots on earth, to sleep in the back of my car cuz somebody locked the bunkhouse on me :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I may have some personal wisdom to share.
I love math and have studied very much of it.
Personal discipline, especially with everyday finance.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like getting together and helping out with a home-cooked meal, if the host has time for that. My friends have told me they've enjoyed my cooking :)
