About Me

We have been on the road now for several months. My girlfriend , Cora, and I are traveling through Europe and no country is spared. (take that with a grain of salt)
We are two enthusiastic, open-minded, wonderfully amazing, humble creatures that very much like the freedom, mobility and romance of traveling by car. We stink at looking ahead, so don't be surprised when we request to surf your couch two days in advance or that we don't know a whole lot of what we want to do in your country. It's all up to change. So far that has been the main ingredient of this cinnamon sprinkled apple pie of a road trip.

We however carry a low amount of prejudice with us and we love and tolerate all different kinds of people. In fact, we invite you to broaden our minds about your country that we might know absolutely nothing about.

We try to be as respectful and easygoing as we can; we like to help. We're not guests in a five star hotel, so we don't mind to get our hands a little bit dirty. We do get humbled very much by the hospitality of some, but please know that we don't need much to be grateful.

I will try to tell a little bit about myself, individually.
I overthink and overanalyze to painful degrees. I try to think less and enjoy life as it is. I can be happy with the dumbest things in life and am a complete child at times. I also have the attention span of a toddler. I do like to know things, though. As vague and as broad as that sounds it means I love to learn about nearly everything.

I feel most at home in nature, but I tend to go outside my comfort zone. I always try to find the interesting things that differentiates places, people, or countries from each other. I also tend to indulge in everything there is to indulge in - perhaps in a bad way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Some of the best experiences during this trip have been through Couchsurfing. We've met wonderful, friendly people; we've made new friends; we connected with some folks and with some not so. Some were just plain crazy and others welcomed us into their lives. With some we talked and laughed through the nights and some have become stories to share with new people.

We thank everyone that has welcomed us into their homes so far. Wether we connected or not, wether we met just for a short time or stayed for a while; it has been really pleasant.

I could say that we're on Couchsurfing, because we need a place to stay. But that would only be partially true. Although the days we slept in the car have been fun, you don't really meet people in the car and it doesn't compare to the experiences we've had surfing other people's couches. So that, my dear textbox, is why we're on Couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: 10.000 Days (Wings Part 2) is my favorite song. For me an easy pick just because it means so much to me. Other then that I have my preferences, but I enjoy many different kinds of music.
Movies: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Donnie Darko. I'm not actually that much of a movie buffer.
Books: I can't pick favorites. It wouldn't be fair. All I can say is that I like books, but that I'm a very slow reader. Coco is the real reader and she reads them like a train. A train that reads books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We've seen some wild motherfugging bisons!

Teach, Learn, Share

We could share our knowledge of seemingly meaningless things and you could tell us about your experiences, cultural differences, your favorite music, your patriotic views, your favorite food, wether you have ever heard of the country of Kyrgyzstan, your pigeon collection, whatever you can tell us about anything ever. We have learned a lot in the last few months, and not just about the countries we visited. Everyone is knowledgable about something or other. Wether it's interesting to you or not; everyone has something to teach. And we can really learn a lot from each other.

Sharing is very good too, you know. Like everyone's mom used to say:
Sharing is caring and ruilen is huilen.
