ABOUT ME
I am Mark, proud to be a Filipino and obviously from the Philippines. I have been pretty much well traveled across Asia, Europe, and North America.
I am currently based in Maldives. It took me awhile to get here. Life never been pretty straight, is it? Well, not for me 'cause I wandered and still wandering, but I defer to be called lost. I studied in the Philippines and worked there for two years and fell in love with marketing. Marketing is probably life to me. Then I was done with it. Then I left. I moved to USA. Then I was done with it. Then I traveled. Then I am in Maldives. Then I am working and traveling on the side. Travel and work. It's 50:50 my life.
PHILOSOPHY
Be kind and be comfortable in your own skin.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I used to be the president of an international organization way back in college. I was keen and have been forced to open my home to bunch of travelers around the world for three good years and they have been some of my very good friends, to date.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've always been offering my home for good three years but these guys are technically couch surfers but not from this site. As I mentioned, I used to be part of a global travel organization. Part of what we're doing is to send foreigners to the Philippines to do immersive work on education, nation building, and related stuff. In exchange, we offer them free food and accommodation.
I couchsurfed in North America and Europe. Pretty good experience, my reviews will probably tell more about it.
Interests
Disparities and traveling. I think these two are always together. Isn't it true that the further you go in the world, the more you discover about yourself? I think that's one part of traveling that seems to be a heroine ---- you just keep on going back.
I love to read good books and an open, honest conversation about anything. I'm pretty open to being influenced actually.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm into Martin Garrix (good damn EDM, I lately discovered that I am into this kind of genre, or is it just my party mood hoping to freed after a long week of work? ), good Filipino music ( you pretty much miss them when you're overseas!), and I love JB's Purpose album. I felt that he redeemed himself after an era of bad music, or is really is it? Am I just too old for his genre and now his genre grew up for me? Disparities!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I want to give three! First off, I used to be the President of AIESEC. The world s largest student organization of students. Most of them are travelers who are excited to see something new and believe that good enough to travel the world. I've served this organization during college days and stayed there for good two years. I half-ly majored non-curricular versus acads, and still, in the end, I bagged the Student Leader of the Year Award.
Pretty smart, I've been an expat to the United States at the age of 23, working for the world HQ. This is still one of my most crying moment accomplishment in life.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I can probably teach how to make the most of what you have although pretty much all backpackers are experts on scrimping, but, I guess, making the most of what you have isn't all about scrimping. It's particularly about maximizing the day that you have and how much effort you're willing to dole out to the world in order to get to the nexus of your ambitions. I'm probably drunk writing right now, I don't know? What do you think?
Learn: I want to learn about your life? Who are you? What makes you who you are?
Share: I am starting a travel blog here in Maldives this year and if it all went good, I can probably host travelers and work with them as well. I'll share them my accommodation, food and all the perks that go with the place.
What I Can Share with Hosts
When I'm going to my hosts, I'm always bringing something to thank the host in advance. It could be food, scented candles, magazines, books, or anything I can fancy that the person will like. One thing for sure is I do not couch surf empty handed.
