About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To experience as much as I can with the little amount of time I have

ABOUT ME

I am currently working at Firestone Walker Brewery after studying brewing technology and graduating with a BS in Civil Engineering. I know it is quite the career change but I love learning so much that I feel like I am bound to end up knowledgeable about everything but a master of nothing. There's just too many interesting things to do.

I am very active. Growing up in California, you have the ability to recreate year round. Once again, I find myself interested in far too many things. My most sacred hobbies, however, involve me in a remote location with a specific task at hand...ex: Surfing, Flyfishing, Bike Riding, and Backpacking. All of these get you away from the daily routine and force you to live in the moment. I love to feel synchronized with the world around me and wonder about the complexity of everything.

As much as I like to get away from it all, I constantly find myself in a remote beautiful place only wishing that I could share the experience with someone else. I cherish the friends that I have who are willing to push the physical limits and get out there. The genuine smile of your best friend after he just caught the wave of his life, a high five on top of a mountain after a day of physical labor, or the sense of accomplishment after catching the trout you've been learning about for two weeks...This is the shit that I live for.

PHILOSOPHY

Simple. Be Real. Have a positive outlook but a realistic interpretation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couch surfed almost the entire time I was studying beer in Munich. Since then I have been hosting people here and there when my schedule relaxes a bit. I've got to say, I thought I would participate but work tends to complicate things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wow! Too many experiences to share. Living in Germany and studying beer was pretty awesome.

Next in line would have to be the time I spent in Thailand. I lived with a Thai family for three months while I worked with a NGO engineering houses made from Interlocking Compressed Earth Blocks (a sustainable reconstruction effort initially intended for Indonesia).

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn and have much to teach. I guess it's just a matter of what sparks my interest and what you want to know.

Austria, Cambodia, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Laos, Mexico, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Panama
