ABOUT ME
Hello!
I've worked in a variety of customer service jobs, as a photojournalist, wedding photographer, and most recently a tech Project Manager. (My parents always said video games wouldn't help me get a job, but how wrong they were!)
In addition to studying English and Theater in college I trained at the Second City theater in Chicago, where many of the best US comedians honed their craft.
I moved to the west coast of the US to see more of the country and haven't been able to stop wanting to see more of the world.
In my free time in Seattle I like to hike, bicycle, listen to live music, dance, check out new bars and sail. I've been learning how to sail over the past few years and plan to eventually sail across the Pacific.
PHILOSOPHY
I want to see how people live in different countries to help me understand why the world is the way it is today and to help me better understand my own voice.
I believe in educating your conscience with all of your resources available, then trusting yourself and following your intuition.
Life is about discovering yourself, making new friends, and having as many new and diverse experiences as possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None, though my friend Chandler hosts and has stayed with guests regularly, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

Music, Movies, and Books
Old American rock. And all varieties of other music.
Mostly Science Fiction books. Murakami, Vonnegut, and Philip K Dick are my favorite.
My favorite films change all the time, but I love Hitchcock, Kurosawa, Christopher Nolan. Higher level I like French New Wave, the films FNW inspired in Japan, and well executed Sci-Fi.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I moved from Chicago to Seattle on a motorcycle. Over 2000mi (3200km)
Teach, Learn, Share
Improvisation, the art form I studied in Chicago is a huge part of my day to day life.
It's a skill of problem solving, trusting yourself, cooperating with others, and discovering your own personal voice.
People learn it to improve public speaking skills, to solve problems and think creatively. I've taught improvisation for several years and learned from the best - I'd be happy to teach you the basics.
I've been a photographer and sailor for a long time and can teach you that, too.
