À propos de moi

Hey!

So I'm Mark, and I've lived in Bristol in the UK for about 7 years now. It's a great city and I love it, so vibrant and full of life.
I guess my passions in life would be music and food. I love to cook all sorts of food and I get a kick out of having loads of people round to mine and cooking for them. Also eating out is great, thai food being a particular favourite. I am also massively into music, checking out the live music scene in Bristol, obsessively collecting vinyl, and also trying my hand at various instruments.
I have been learning languages for a few years now, and I'm about to start my second year at the University of Bristol studying French and Spanish. I'm having a great time despite being the only 'mature' student on my course! All the kiddywinks are very friendly though. My French is pretty decent, as in I can hold a conversation and largely follow what's going on, but my Spanish is a little more basic.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

Ok I'll bullet point it...

1. Meet new people - pretty obvious one. Staying in other peoples' homes when travelling and hosting others when they visit here just seems a great way to meet folks. I'm always looking to expand my social circle!

2. Travel - I've been to a bunch of places around the world, but it's nowhere near enough. I need to see many more places and staying with and meeting people while I do it just seems a great way to go about it.

3. Languages - being in my second year studying French and Spanish at uni means I really need more practice speaking. There are plenty of French and Spanish folks in Bristol for me to practice with, but nothing really compares to being immersed in a language for a period of time, using it all day every day.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Music - old 60s/70s soul, folk, country, bluegrass, blues, americana... I'm quite old-school in my taste but pretty open-minded.

Movies - all sorts really, comedy, drama, whatever really. One of my favourites is Little Miss Sunshine. If that film doesn't leave you with a goofy grin and a tear in your eye then you're dead inside.

Pays que j'ai visités

Bolivia, France, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Peru, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, United States
