Man residing in Port Hedland for work opportunities. I'm from Cairns, where my children and grandchildren live. I work full time and spend my leisure time reading, listening to music and not enough socializing. I like to explore the Pilbara, the region South Hedland is in, when I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My sons had couchsurfed os and had couchsurfers stay in Cairns. I just had an old friend leave today after a short time here, She had been a couchsurfing host in England and the seed my sons planted with their exploits, germinated upon discussions with her. And I like travellers. I have managed a backpacker hostel in Cairns and owned a small mob of horses at Cape Tribulation, so have worked with travellers on a daily basis. I have travelled somewhat, but like most people, have to do more. But at the moment, work is my agenda.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't like some country music and also some heavy metal. Not real keen on trance, but like just about everything else. I don't read enough fiction and love it when I do. Reading a biography on Empress Dowager, a 19th century Chinese Empress at the moment. The last fiction was The English Passenger, which I loved. No cinema in Port Hedland and when in Cairns, I take my grandkids to kids movies. And some are quite good. Recently watched The Green Beautiful on You Tube. A French fantasy (unfortunately) and I'd watch it again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Shit, I don't know. Rode a push bike from Cairns to Brisbane, a distance of 1,700 ks, which is probably more maddening then amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have taught people to read, to ride and to cook. I'd like to learn more about classical music and how to encourage people to be accepting of each other. I'll share conversation, music, shelter and experiences.
