I've realized that there are so many cool opportunities around the country and even within driving distance of where I'm at. Hotels are way too much money for a poor graduate student and I've heard about couchsurfing while looking for better ways to stay local along with airbnb.

I've had an amazing opportunity to volunteer as a student medical volunteer at the 2015 Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC. That was an amazing experience to work with some qualified health professional donating their time along with the men and women of the United States Navy and Marine Corps.
