About Me
// This is my new account for solo travelling. https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/selina-marko is my shared account I used before, which has reference, too.
In my spare time you might find me brewing ginger beer, being outdoors hiking (ideally in the mountains) plus wild camping, at a art exhibition or presentation, crafting something, cooking something really complex at 1am, listening to a podcast, audiobook or reading. If I go somewhere on a holiday it's usually via couchsurfing, trustroots, workaway/helpx (one very memorable place was a farm in Mongolia during winter) or (most recently) warm showers.
I really love to meet new people and I enjoy it a lot to be surprised be how diverse humans can be. Of course I am very open minded and open hearted and I always try to be the least pre-judgemental. You can very quickly end up in a deep conversation with me about pretty much any topic and often I end up merging my personal live with my "professional" student life (as in the project I work on at university). This I how I usually develop new ideas and challenge my opinions. About my what I do at university: I really love what I do and I could talk about if forever. Especially to work on projects with a Speculative Design approach; projects that go well beyond styling and only aesthetics.
I enjoy to try out, experiment and learn crafts. In the last year I worked with ceramics (mainly slip cast process), the glazing of the ceramics, 3d printing, bronze casing and some sewing.
I would describe my life like a very strong set of waves; meaning I tend to put all my energy in one thing at the time. I admire people who can share their energy between several things in their life. But I don't thing there is a right or wrong way of living life. As long as it fulfills you it's both thumbs up!
I am half Greek, half German, and often the greek part in me releases a good amount of spontaneousness which will change plans made, and adapt them to the moment.
Hence I do enjoy to go out, too. Ideally to a nice café, bar, pub or concerts. Clubs really depend on the style of them and music.
From September 2019 until January 2020 I will be studying in Lahti, Finland as a Erasmus student. Before that I studied at my home university in Bremen at the University of the Arts, and I lived together with Selina who with I spend I good portion of my lifetime together as we as we were also travelling for almost two years from Europe via Asia to Oceania over land (or at least where there was land). We wrote a blog about some of this trip ( www.medium.com/uncharted-path ).
