About Me

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please read before sending me a request. I live with my fiancee Jovana Tadic ( https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/jovana-tadic-1 ) who manages all of our surfing experiences as being hosts. Please direct all of your requests to her and we will both read them and send you a reply in the shortest amount of time we can. Also, I don't want to sound as a prick, but blank profiles from people that clearly haven't even read our profile(s), the times we can host and meet up will hardly be considered. Thanks for understanding!

Hey everyone!

My name is Marko, and I am a graduate student from University in Belgrade, Serbia. I am majoring in sports and physical education, currently working as an online English teacher. My dream is to have a stable job working as a personal fitness instructor, and eventually owning a gym of my own, helping people lose weight, gain muscle, stay fit and exercise. It is a quite fulfilling job for me that can best reflect your own qualities as a trainer.

As for my couch surfing experience so far, I am here with my fiancee Jovana, and it is her profile that we use to meet people. So far we have been hosts to people from all around the world and each experience was absolutely marvelous, we absolutely love this concept!

Anyways, more about me: I am 27, from Serbia, Belgrade, and I would like to see as much of the world as I can, meeting people along the way, sharing food, beer, and stories from our travels and lifestyles.
What I like to do? Rain, rain, rain and you guessed it: more rain. Cool weather, windy and rainy days make me feel most relaxed, inspired and motivated. So I am constantly looking up to the sky, and waiting for it to rain for me to play some heavy metal and go running in the forest near my home. There is something special in hearing the leaves being pummeled by each rain drop, seeing the thunder light up the sky, and of course, having a strong workout all while listening to some of my favorite bands.

There is no food that I don't like, and I am constantly trying to find some new and crazy dishes to taste.
Not so much into fizzy drinks but boy, do I love beer and mead. I make mead at home and I am willing so share all the tips and ideas into making the perfect home brew. If you have good timing, you are welcome to share mine if we host you in our place. :)

As far as the two of us as hosts and guests: if you come to our place you are welcome to do whatever you feel like, sleep and eat as much as you want. As for us being guests, well... we still haven't traveled using couch surfing ourselves, but we are polite, kind, laid back people and we would like only a small piece of floor to sleep on, or, if the weather is nice, some space in your yard to put up a tent.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was always fascinated by different cultures, traditions, food, and history. I think this is the best way to experience all of that, and of course, it is a good way to travel cheap. To any student this is the best way to see the world, and to meet people and become friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: The music I mostly listen to is metal, more precisely power and heavy, although there are a lot of music genres and performers that are cool to me, depending on the mood and situation. I always try to find some less known and popular bands that deserve to be heard of, but there are the heavy metal classics you cannot escape from being a metal fan. Iron Maiden, Ronnie James Dio, Blind Guardian, Manowar, Sabaton to name just a few. At the moment I am crazy about folk power metal bands like Tyr, Triddana, Celtic Legacy, Tanagra.

Movies: The Lord of the Rings, The hobbit (although Peter Jackson did a poor job with it), Harry Potter, Braveheart, Transformers, and as far as TV shows go Vikings and Game of thrones. Generally I am quite interested in Sci-fi, Mystery, and mindfu*k movies as well.

Books: The Sword of Truth Saga by Terry Goodkind, Dragonriders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey, Wolfhound by Maria Semyonova, Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin.
I think that to any fantasy addict these will bring unending joy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Started living separately from my parents with the love of my life. I know it may sound silly, or to some even insignificant, but to me it was a very big deal back then. She stood by me all this time in the good times and the bad. So long story short, yea. Meeting Jo that day more than 7 years ago was the most amazing thing I've ever done. <3

Teach, Learn, Share

I can offer some help learning English, how to exercise and eat properly, share tips on how to make kickass mead at home and of course, some info on our country, and I could recommend some music to listen to while we are together.

I would like to learn how to speak Swedish, Norwegian, and Faroese fluently, become a drummer in a metal band ( I still have to learn how to do it though!), work and live in some other countries, and to learn what life is like in other parts of the world.

My dream is to visit the Faroe Islands, a secluded archipelago of islands in the north of the Atlantic, a place so beautiful and unique, and this August the dream will finally come true. If given the chance I would like to spend more time living and working there to experience the kind of life I always thought was most suited to me. Peaceful, relaxing, in a cozy environment where people rarely trouble themselves with deadlines, rush hours, crazy nightlife etc, surrounded by mesmerizing nature in which I can go hiking, camping, exploring. All I want is a cozy place where I can enjoy life, food, and music with loved ones.

What I Can Share with Hosts

In our place you will always have a warm and cozy room with a fold out couch to stay in, a hot meal and shower, cold beer and mead, access to the washing machine and whatever you may need to feel at home.

Also free pats and scratchies with Cookie, our 11 year old grandpa golden retriever. Give him a doggie treat and some affection and he will be your friend for ever and ever.

Talks about life, food, customs, our hobbies, space, time and the stars until sunrise.

I am so much in love with couch surfing, that if we had the time, we would have guests 24/7. But life has other plans, so please have patience and be understanding if we cannot host you at the time you would like us to.
