About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To create my self, for better or worse.

ABOUT ME

Me. Well, that's a bit difficult. I spend my time listening to music and creating it spontaneously, however, I have little to show for it. I enjoy the other arts as well - film, theater, literature, philosophy, visual arts, etc - and am very willing to discuss said areas. I am interested in culture and sub-culture, both high and low, and hope to teach as much as I learn. In short, I am interested in interesting people and that which they have to offer.

PHILOSOPHY

We may be condemned to be free, but freedom couldn't be a better sentence.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been part of a house which has hosted over a dozen Couch Surfers and I have made it a point to get to know nearly every individual who my roommates have hosted and have been treated to some of the most kind, interesting and interested people that I have ever met.

I haven't lived in a CS host-able house since 2010, but I have continued with the spirit of CS (giving and sharing in exchange for new experiences) with all those I've met since.

I would also eventually like to travel through the Couch Surfing website, as it seems to me the best way to not only experience, but understand, ones destination. It is the best approach to travel that I have come across.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I mentioned before, I have participated in hosting many, yet have surfed none. I look forward to diving into the community with which I have already had amazing experiences.

Interests

The arts - music, philosophy, literature, film, the visual arts, theater, etc. - The outdoors - the beach, the forest, the mountains, fields, rivers, backyards, fire pits, hillsides, backroads, the city, back alleys, stoops, storefronts, back porches, parks, etc. - The excess - Food, drinks, smokes, visuals, etc - People - Those who keep it real, slackers, hippies, punks, lefties, partisans, civil libertarians, stoics, cynics, dreamers, romantics, artists, loners, socialites, truth speakers, those who are disillusioned with truth, hell raisers, those who see past hell, creators, destroyers, mediators and meditators. Music, Movies, and Books

Very diverse. If we meet, I'm sure it won't take long to get on one of these topics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen people, they are pretty amazing, but hard to explain. Natural wonders include the Alberta Rockies, the Louisiana Bayou, the Great lakes of Michigan, the cities of Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York, Austin, Henderson/Las Vegas, San Francisco/Mill Valley, Nehalem/Manzanita, Portland, Vancouver, Jasper, Penticton, Madison, Toledo, Ann Arbor, Nairobi, San Jose, Paris, Madrid, Sevilla, and many more. I have met people of many backgrounds, chatted, learned, taught, drank with and experienced the best of what this earth seems to have to offer.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach, learn and share, eh? You're expecting a lot out of me, but I'll do my best to deliver. The best axiom I can come up with is: It doesn't really matter. Next time you are faced with a decision which threatens your "personality", just stop and think - It really doesn't matter - so, you are who you are. It's true for now, accept that. Don't let it stop you from experiencing what's out there. We've all got a lot of learning to do, so expect it and embrace it.
