ABOUT ME

I am a drummer . . . nearly any style (although there are many out there that I have yet to even encounter). I play drums, teach drums, collect drums, write about drums, sleep on drums, eat drums for breakfast. Okay, maybe I've taken that a bit far!

PHILOSOPHY

I personally have a ridiculously long "bucket list" (things to do / places to go before I die). While I am quite aware that I will NEVER check everything off of that list (which is constantly added to), I have vowed to live my life as if I were going to.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CS'ers are among the most fun, interesting, adventurous, imaginative people I meet. Hanging one-on-one in a host/surf situation and/or swapping stories in a group gathering are some of the only moments that I feel I am with others who understand why I do what I do; why I go where I go. Many of my non-CS friends and family stay close to home . . . due to fear of the unknown, or a lack of desire to get out of their box. I am "THE traveler" guy. At any CS event, there is always someone (or, more often, MANY someones) who has/have traveled to places that I haven't. Their experiences inspire me and cause me to continually add locales to my future itineraries . . .

The only CD that never leaves my car . . . 'Buena Vista Social Club.' Also digging Afro-Pop (Oliver Mtukudzi, Fela Kuti, Oumou Sangare, Cheikh Lo, Youssou N'Dour, etc.).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I set a Guinness World Record (with three of my friends), playing the World's Longest Drum Roll by a Group . . . 12 hours.
