About Me
Hello,
I'm on here as it seems like a good way to explore new places and get a real sense of the communities and people living in them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To see new places and learn new things, find new perspectives and expand on old ones. It’s a good way to explore new places and meet cool people. Also to show people round parts of my city and to share some places that I know that I like and think are worth seeing but aren’t in many tourist guides.
Interests
Travelling (self-evident). I like to laugh, listen to music, experience different things, see new art, try different beers and food, learn about languages, cultures and people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Most genres: Classical, Electro, indie, folk, metal and blues, anything from Bach, Aphex Twin, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Radiohead, Metallica, Bob Dylan etc.
Movies - cult films, whether they're so excruciatingly terrible it makes them exceptionally entertaining; exploitation cinema; art house; just plain old nostalgic classics.
Books - I'm open minded, was a big Russian Literature fan growing up, recently been reading a lot more post WW2 American fiction, big fan of David Foster Wallace. No strict favourite books of all time. But if I had such a list these would definitely be on it: The Outsider; Infinite Jest; Crime and Punishment; The Reprieve; 2666; Pale Fire; The Sound and The Fury; Being and Time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have seen sights that have been awe inspiring (natural sights), but I wasn't an active creator, more of an observer passive to the amazing thing. I’ve met interesting people and shared life changing stories and conversations and have been lucky enough to have many special and memorable moments in a number of different countries. Also done Europe’s fastest zip wire :). I taught English in Africa
Teach, Learn, Share
I can play the guitar, improvising to an acceptable standard.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Conversation, a sense of humour, guitar lessons, cooking (I’m vegan and love plant based cooking, happy to share or learn recipes).
Countries I’ve Visited
Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Scotland, Spain, Tanzania, United States
Countries I’ve Lived In
