About Me

Hello there,

I am Markus - a fun, loving and friendly explorer with a passion for learning new things and gaining knowledge around the world :-)

Leading an experience based lifestyle has become incredibly important to me - so I try to fill the majority of my days with as many things I enjoy doing as possible, this definitely contains practicing yoga and meditation, strolling or hiking through nature, reading a good book, or going on inspiring photography tours. But it certainly also includes lying in the sun, exploring hidden alleys, learning about new and delicious recipes (please teach me your favorite recipe :-p), sharing a bottle of wine or listening and dancing to music.

In 2013 I started my first trip by backpacking throughout Australia and New Zealand for one year.
A couple of years later and the travel bug has still not left. So I packed my bags a second time and traveled around Asia for two amazing years.
Meeting people from around the world who turned into beloved friends have been the highlight of both of my trips.

When I am in Germany (and stocking up my travel budget) I am working for a magazine as an editor and photographer as well as a gardener.

This time I packed my bags to not only explore the hidden beauty of Central and South America, but also to follow my dream of becoming a professional Yoga Teacher. I am excited to meet all the people that are coming along the way. :-)

I love reading and I especially enjoy books, which paint colorful pictures inside my head only by using poetic words of black and white. Such books are..
Siddharta / The Alchemist / Doors of Perception / A Thousand Splendid Suns / Life of Pi / The Perfume / The Book Thief / The Little Prince / Momo / The Harry Potter Saga

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

No matter if it is snorkelling with a whale shark, backpacking throughout Australia, snacking my way through NYC, watching the sunset in a peaceful and quiet place, or dancing around a campfire with my friends - there are so many moments and things I love thinking back upon.
But, the most amazing thing I have done is literally what I am doing right now:
living in the present, using all my senses to absorb every second of life.
