About Me

PHILOSOPHY

Climb high, climb far, your goal the sky, your aim the star.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Giving and taking on the most basic level - isn't it the most relevant code of every social interaction? I'd say giving is even more fun, but hey - it's your choice!

Interests

Firts and foremost of course... TRAVELLING!
I also love cooking... crosscooking and baking being my favorites!
Sports I do love a lot, mainly jogging, swimming, playing soccer, tennis and squash...
Socialising (I know - the word :-) and partying with friends and couchsurfing fellows... ;-)

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: all Coen Brothers and Wes Anderson, as well as Jean-Pierre Jeunet movies.

Music: Grown up with HipHop, then getting acquainted with alternative, indie, rock and electronic music... current favorites: vampire weekend, cinnamon chasers, aloe blacc, mumford&sons, and many many others

Books: Being an Historian, I'm mostly hooked up with non-fictional stuff, but I also like the novels from T.C. Boyle, Martin Suter and Michel Houllebecq (tho I think he's sometimes a bit too much). The compendiums of Harald Martenstein's op-eds are fun to read, as well as Casanova's biographical notes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Standing on top of a 1km(!) steep cliff at the Drakenberg Mountains in South Africa was thrilling - until now. :-)
Staring in the eye of a lion was hefty, too.
Oh, and sailing on a 3-mast barque was an experience... and... and...!

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, South Africa, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany, United States
