About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore the lived environment, and work out how I can contribute to it

ABOUT ME

I'm always told I look younger than my age but am actually mid Twenties, London born but living overseas... It's an incredible city and I love it, but it's greatest gift for me are wings ;) (p.s. Brexit is still a sore topic for me, I'm mortified), Finding my way around 'adult' life and still trying to work out where/who I want to be but enjoying making that discovery.
Have been traveling with an opportunity since twenty - two years ago I decided to try long-term traveling and have now settled overseas (just not in one place ;) ) It started with a flight to Russia, and long train journey into Siberia and through to Asia... now back in Europe, but somewhere slightly hotter than home!
Spent the last two years based in Asia - mostly Vietnam - living, working and traveling around there but have recently moved back to Europe. At the moment I'm living in Malta and did not realise how easy life could be! It's a beautiful, peaceful little rock and I can swim in the Med whenever I like! Will be based here for one year while I work for a NGO who rescue people crossing the Mediterranean Sea - very interesting work. My career (humanitarian/international development) and life ambitions relate to this although I'm not quite sure if I'll follow the same path that I'm on. I am passionate about People and Place. The social world is what gives me the most excitement, optimism, and interest... as well as sadness. I hope to never stop learning and immersing myself this and find a way that I can contribute to social progression, cohesion, and equity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It's a fantastic community and I've never been let down by it.... met people from all walks of life and all corners of the globe and whether I've surfed, hosted, or attended socials in Europe, Asia, Africa, or Australia, I've always meet incredibly interesting, kind, likeminded people. The only problem with it is that I make connections too easily and am left with a global diaspora of friendships!

I like sharing whatever I can with likeminded people, at the very least my company, but hopefully I can offer something more!

Interests

Traveling, reading, and drinking!
See the world and meeting it's residents.
Reading books and current affairs.
Drinking good tea or beer.
I like fitness - swimming and running, and of course hiking, though am definitely not competative!
Latest hobby - Salsa and Bachata ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm currently working with an NGO who save people's lives, one of the few organisations actually trying to help people who die on their journeys to Europe. This is something I'm quite proud of, I hope I can continue to work in this field.

Something a bit more light-hearted... though probably more stupid than amazing... bought a cheap shitty motorbike in Vietnam with no previous experience of driving and decided to drive it all the way around the country... losing my passport in the process and ending up living and working there! Funny how the cards fall.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good nature and nice company :) a beer, and some makeshift [English] cooking if that's not too offensive. I can, of course help with English (native and former teacher) or with project docs. I can contribute a lasting, genuine friendship and hosting here in Malta, or London, or wherever I end up!
