About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To Experince the "WOW" of being alive in the "NOW"!!

ABOUT ME

I am a jack of all trades and a master of none. I have been through almost all the various life stages you can; worked for a start up software company in the late 90's which was sold and we all bailed out, threw raves and parties for awhile, sold out to corporate america and lived the life of luxury, until I sold out to living like Jimmy Buffet on an island in the Caribbean for a few years. Now I run a small sustainable building company which is trying to Reduce Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD) in the developing world. It's a wild path. Other than that my favorite thing in life is sailing. Since we don't have much sailing in Ashland, I have gotten into rock climbing and enjoy about anything outdoors. Create your own visitor map!

PHILOSOPHY

WOW! That's it. I try and live my life in a constant state of "WOW"! I don't have space for being depressed or unhappy. I know this sounds idealistic but when you meet me you will understand.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I open my space to those who would like to share it. I have more than I need and it seems silly to horde it all to myself. My place is spartan but comfortable.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had the best experiences, mainly as a host. Great meals, interesting conversations, art walks, park romps, plays and movies and cheese. Sharing a love for the "Blah, Blah" of philosophical thought and the slow deep moments of existence.

Interests

Hmmmm, sailing, climbing, surfing, scuba, hiking, backpacking, building, sustainable living, neo-humanism, philosophy, reading....Life I guess!

Music, Movies, and Books

So many it would be impossible to list, but so I will just put my favorite in each category. Movie = Waking Life, Music = Bob Marley, Book = Atlas Shrugged. Don't read into them, you will get it wrong. Example, Bob Marley because he loved punk rock, did you know that?!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have swam in the warm waters of the Caribbean with bio luminescent algae glowing all around me as shooting stars filled the sky, drinking champagne and watching fire dancers perform to the sounds of drums around a bon fire 40 ft tall. No joke, one of the coolest nights ever!

Teach, Learn, Share

What can I teach or share! Hmmmm. An encyclopedic knowledge of REDD and the carbon market. Best practices in sustainable living applied to the worlds absolute poorest people. Neuro linguistic programing as a tool to sell more, well, anything. Momentary WOW!
