About Me

I am studying social work in the small city of Wiesbaden. I'm also working here in a psychiatric daycare, so my time resources are limited. I live with three wonderful humans in a shared appartment in the inner city area. We love hosting people and appreciate the chance of learning new things from our guests.
My Roomie Maiks profile: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/maikporrmann
I am also traveling myself, having recently moved back from Cape Town, where I did an eight month internship in a NGO, working against gender based violence.
I am very concerned about social injustice in general, I am an activist, as well as love to have a good conversation and learn new view points.
I am a vegetarian and happily cook lekker veggies to proof that meat is just not needed to create a pleasant and filling meal.

There are some rules we find pretty reasonable we have for all surfers:
1. No racist, sexist, homo*transphobic, antisemitic or in general discriminatory bullshit or views.
2. We share food and tasks. Meaning you are welcome to eat with us and out of our fridge as long as you are here. That also requires to be an allsided input though, so please consider, what you would find a reasonable contribution and how you can participate :) we are all vegetarian/ vegan, if you feel a need to eat meat, please leave it outside our house.
3. If you request and we confirm, but your plans change, please take a moment of your precious time and let us know. Its been happening a couple of times recently and it is just frustrating, because it steals our time and we have to decline other surfers if saving a spot for a noshow.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because it is a amazing opportunity to meet lovely and interesting people, exchange travel experiences and get an insight into other people's ways of life.
The best thing about traveling for me is to understand new cultures, mindsets and people. Couchsurfing you can help a great deal with that. When I am in a foreign place as well as, when having humans join our little homes.

Interests

I enjoy a good conversation and a day of relaxing as well as action like tracking kayaking or going out to dance. I Love to cook and learn new recipes.

Music, Movies, and Books

Hard to decide music has to fit the occasion and every genre has great stuff to offer. But when it's about all time Favorits Id have to go for indie rock like the used or tool.
A movie I would always recommend is fight club for the harder moments or a long way down for a lighter funnier movie night.
Books make it even harder. I guess everything I haven't read yet. I'm open to all kinds of recommendations!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being able to teach in a primary school in Samoa might have been one of the most amazing things I ever had the chance to do. These kids where just so happy to be taught and it was beautiful to put a smile on some of those sweet little faces.

Teach, Learn, Share

Life is a process of learning that never ends. When it comes to couch surfing I feel more on the learner than on the teacher side, since I'm really at the beginning of my journey and people have a lot to share which I appreciate!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I appreciate cooking together also like to support the housework to an reasonable extend and enjoy sharing beautiful moment together.
