About Me

Hi, I‘m Marleen, 24 years old and from Germany, Bonn. I'm a relaxed and happy person, always interested in getting to know new people, new cultures, new places!
What travelling means to me: getting to know other ways of living as well as to get shown new perspectives of life. That's also the main reason I use couchsurfing: travelling with a local is worth a lot and I would love to experience that more often!

In my freetime I enjoy to do any kind of outdoor activity, like hiking, climbing, bouldering, just going for walks.
My greatest passion is probably hiking in the mountains, and hopefully one day I'll be able to say that I live there. I love nature since I was a child that’s why I try to live as sustainably as I can.

Music, Movies, and Books

Artists I like: Arlo Parks, Parcels, Rejjie Snow, Loyle Carner, Tame Impala, The 1975, Men I Trust, Black Country New Road, Two Another, Tom Misch, Fred again, L'Imperatice, Frankie Stew and Harvey Gunn, Bring Me The Horizon, Linkin Park, Red Hot Chili Peppers, ..

I also love singing and dancing to old classics from the 70s and 80s.

German hip hop and rap is nice as well. Makko for example!

I enjoy reading: my favourite book is probably the Swarm by Frank Schätzing. Other books I read are about feminism, psychology and sociology. Eva Illouz, Khaled Hosseini and Ferdinand von Schirach are authors that really inspire me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking Rinjani in Lombok, Indonesia. One of the greatest and toughest hikes I ever did. Hopefully there are more to come!
