I am Marlena. 25 years old. I live and work in Maryland, USA (near DC) at an elementary school. I work specifically with a few students in grades K-2 who have physical and learning disabilities. It's the most rewarding job and I love every day! I am in graduate school for teaching special education and someday getting into music therapy.

I believe that the energy you give out to the world is what gets reflected back to you. What we see in others is what we see in ourselves. We are all mirrors of each other, and for that reason, I try to treat everyone with love and respect. I know that when I treat people, animals, and the planet, with love, I am treating myself with love, cuz everything is connected :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet and hang out with a variety of cool and interesting people from around the world. From July-October 2014 I travelled with a friend through Europe. We used surfed six times in many places- Berlin, Rotterdam, Frankfurt, to name a few, all very positive experiences!

Interests
