About Me
Hello everybody!
I'm a 24 year-old student living in Vienna. I'm studying Art History and Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Vienna.
For a few months every year I'm working for a Film Festival here in Vienna, the rest of the time I'm working at a bar.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The unexpected things that happen in life are often the best. Meeting and getting to know different people and cultures helps reflecting about your own life, wishes and hopes and makes you appreciate how wonderful life in general is. It sounds super cheesy but it's true. There is this quote along the lines of “A man who reads lives a thousand lives, the man who never reads lives only one.” I think you can extend that to travelling and meeting strangers. You get to see different perspectives and learn how different and wonderfully unique people's personalities are.
Unfortunately, I am not able to host at the moment since I live in a shared flat and don't have that much space, but I'd love to meet up for food or drinks and conversations or walking around a bit in the city. There so much stuff to do, that most people probably don't know about. So if you need any recommendations what to do or where to go, I'm sure I can help you out.
Interests
Well obviously, travelling! I just love to get a glimpse of completely different countries, cultures, people, lives, food, etc.
Music is a constant companion in my life, I love going to concerts and checking out new local bands here in Vienna. Showing me new music that I like is the key to my heart :)
I enjoy all things cultural - going to museums, theaters, cinema, or even the opera. I also enjoy simply strolling around in Vienna and looking at the beautiful architecture and parks.
Love food, be it cooking or eating out, accompanied by some wine and interesting conversations. And I'll be honest, I like to party quite a bit. Although I prefer bars over clubs.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books - everything from Murakami, Hesse, Steinbeck, TC Boyle, to Douglas Adams, Martin and Rothfuss, as well as tons of books about art and architecture.
I've done my fair share of binge watching TV shows like Game of Thrones, Orange is the New Black or House of Cards, but I've been watching a lot less recently because it takes up so much time.
Music - I appreciate (almost) all kinds of genres, as long as the music makes me feel something. Love indie and classic rock, depending on my mood everything from punk rock to shoegaze to psychedelic to stoner to britpop. I love Jazz as well as german hiphop as well as soul and 80s new wave. All time favorites though are Pink Floyd, Bowie and Nick Cave. I'm always interested in discovering new artists so don't hesitate to show me some artists from your countries :)
Film - nothing too blockbuster-y, prefer independent movies, really appreciate Korean, French, European in general cinema.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveling the Route 66, partying under the moon on the beach in Goa, standing at the edge of Grand Canyon, surfing (or trying to surf) in the ice-cold water at the Atlantic coast in France. Going to Bangkok all by myself and just seeing where it'll take me. Spending the day with my grand-parents, playing cards. Staying up all night to see the sun rise. Holding a new born puppy in my hands. Exploring ancient temples in India. Shopping at the bazaar in Istanbul.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some words in German, I can tell you about strange Austrian traditions, I can show you good places to eat or hang out, and I can teach you about art history and history!
I want to learn something about you and your country, listen to stories or maybe learn a few words of your language!
