ABOUT ME

Travel is my passion. My dream trip is to take a cruise around Antarctica. I am outgoing and love to visit places. I enjoy seeing sights and I also enjoy just relaxing. I am looking to meet others who are hospitable, compassionate and friendly. I would not only like to see the world but I would also like to make some great friends along the way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had the honor to play host thus far to thirty-nine surfers from age 70 down to 11 months and my experiences have been wonderful. I believe we have the power to make a day or make a difference with a person so I strive to leave a lasting impression! I have also had the pleasure of being hosted in August 08 for my first time. I was lucky to spend three nights at a hosts apartment while they were out of town and I also in the same trip to CO had the pleasure of spending three days with a wonderful couple who just slam dunked what CS is all about. In July 2009 I spent 6 days with Cynthia who Couchsurfed with me in 2008, so it was great to reconnect and visit with her in Michigan. In May 2010, I was hosted by John and Jan in Wisconsin last minute due to a funeral and they were wonderful. July 2010 I was hosted twice in Traverse City by Cynthia and also Nevette and look forward to making Traverse City an annual stop in my travels. September 2010 I was hosted by Deni and Kamal with Tom on our way back from a home exchange stay in SC. In November 2010 I was hosted by Steph in NC for a business trip at my former home office and then she hosted me again in Feb 2011. In December of 2010 I was hosted by Tom in Houston who has surfed with me twice and was so thankful to meet his family when I was there on company business. I have also surfed a ton with my dear friend Deb, who has put me up so many times in 2011 that I should pay her rent. In June of 2011, I was hosted by Irma in Traverse City on my 4th trip to the area and she was a great hostess. I also was able to spend a night with Cynthia the wonderful lady I give credit to for my love affair with Traverse City! In July 2011 I went back up with Tom and we stayed with Nevette again. Friends for life up in Traverse City. In August of 2011, I made the decision to move to TRAVERSE CITY and start life over. Jessie (my beautiful black lab) and I are now up here calling this area Northern Paradise. I have CS to thank for this! Had it not been for CS I wouldn't of met Cynthia who invited me to visit her here.
Spent 2011 - 2016 with moving many times with no ability to host or be hosted and finally in June of 2106, I married Dan and back to living in Traverse City, MI

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent 12 days on an Alaskan cruise and it was breathtaking and wonderful.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am respectful, insightful and compassionate. I want to leave a positive impression when I stay with hosts. I am willing to be waited on and/or willing to also help with meals and clean up. I have lived a pretty eventful life, willing to share experiences and stories to show my transparency and love of people.
