About Me

CURRENT MISSION

everyday a new adventure

ABOUT ME

We live in Freeport, Illinois where Marli works part time on her family's farm, and Nick works full time as a project manager. We both love to be outdoors, to work with our hands, to maintain open minds, and to have fun every day!

PHILOSOPHY

Don't ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We love traveling and are interested in learning about new cultures while at the same time sharing what we know! We don't live in a very touristy part of the country so don't get many requests to hosts, but are still excited to be a part of the CS community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've had wonderful experiences staying with hosts in various countries, and sometimes just meeting up with a couch surfer for a meal and to learn about their city/country.

Interests

Outdoor adventures (hiking, snowboarding, kiteboarding, camping, etc.), cooking healthy and delicious food, yoga, growing our own food, music, spending time with family and friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

We love all three... some favorite bands are String Cheese Incident, Railroad Earth, Moody Blues. Some favorite movies are Monty Python, Lawrence of Arabia, and Australia. We love all books- Nick especially loves Fantasy novels, and Marli loves historical novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Marli: Canyoning in Switzerland- the most difficult thing I have ever done, and the most amazing!

Nick: Kiteboarding at Hood River in Oregon

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, we can share our lifestyle- trying to live in a healthy way for our bodies and minds. We also would love to talk and share ideas and experiences.
