About Me

Hi, I’m Marlon!

Curious about cultures, passionate about people, and always open to genuine connections. 🌍 I believe the best way to experience a place is through everyday life — and many guests say staying here feels more like visiting a friend than being hosted.

Hosting with me usually means sharing real local moments in the Amazon: casual nights out, local food, good conversations, music, laughter, and sometimes meeting friends along the way. I enjoy connections that feel natural, light, and unforced. For me, good conversations are just as important as good places.

Many guests plan to stay for a short time and end up staying longer than expected, and that's amazing, because it means that I really enjoyed your friendship, and I will carry you with me throughout my life.

Note: During the week I work and have my routine, and on some weekends I spend time with my son, so I appreciate guests who are independent and comfortable exploring on their own. When I’m free, I genuinely enjoy accompanying my guests and sharing a bit of local life.

Respect, kindness, and good communication matter a lot to me. My home is a calm, smoke-free and drug-free space. Social drinking is welcome 🍻

If you’re curious about experiencing the Amazon through local eyes — and connecting beyond the surface — you’ll probably feel at home here.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I use Couchsurfing to experience places beyond the tourist layer.

I enjoy meaningful exchanges — sharing stories, perspectives, and small everyday moments that don’t appear in guidebooks.

I host when I can and surf when I travel, always with respect for personal space and boundaries.

The best part of traveling, for me, is the people you meet along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: The Godfather
The Lord of the Rings
Into the Wild
Inception
Interstellar

Music: My playlist is eclectic but i love forró, samba and pagode!

Books: I enjoy books about travel, personal growth, and stories that explore human nature.
I’m more into books that change how you see the world than just entertain.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Dancing through the night at Tomorrowland with friends I met on the way there.
• Hiking a volcano in Chile at sunset — one of those moments that puts everything in perspective.
• Cooking a traditional Brazilian dinner for a Norwegian family in Oslo.
• Getting lost in a local music festival in Thailand, dancing until dawn with people who were strangers a few hours before.

Teach, Learn, Share

- To Teach: I can teach Portuguese, some traditional Brazilian recipes, and share photography tips!
- To Learn: Always open to learning new languages, cooking techniques, and anything related to local culture.
- To Share: My travel stories, a good meal, and, of course, lots of laughs!

What I Can Share with Hosts

- Late-night conversations that start simple and end somewhere unexpected.
A local dinner you won’t find on Google, cooked without recipes, only stories.
A quiet walk to places tourists don’t notice, where the city feels different at night.
I don’t offer promises — only moments most travelers don’t get to see.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guyana, Indonesia, Jamaica, Malaysia, Maldives, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Qatar, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela
