Über mich

CURRENT MISSION

grow up, advance, smile, meet, share....

ABOUT ME

Eclectic. Married. Mom of a 6 years old boy. Stepmom of a 11 years old girl

PHILOSOPHY

I hold it as a sacred truth that nothing happens by accident. To me this means that every person who I cross paths with has something to teach me or something to add to my journey through life.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am both a host and a guest as often as my life allows. It is with the greatest pleasure that I welcome new people (locals and foreigners alike) to my home and to my city. Travel and exploration are also neccesities in my life. In short, I do my best to participate in each aspect of the Couchsurfing experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

One story that sticks out in my memory is the night when I met a young American while admiring the cathédrale Saint-Jean in old Lyon. By a turn of fate I made their acquaintance while meeting up with another group of friends. We hit it off immediately and launched into a broad ranging and deep conversation which ended up with me showing them some of the hidden passageways of old Lyon. After having gone our separate ways to our separate destinations, we met once again in the street and fell back into convesation. I asked them where they were staying that evening, and when I got a somewhat uncertain response I invited them to stay with me for the night. Upon arriving at my apartment, it came out that they were also part of the CS community but had not had the time to make a request while travelling. The moral of the story seems to be that even strangers can be part of your community.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Around the age of 19 I was lucky enough to spend a whole summer living in a caravan with my grandfather, and working in a carnival owned by my family. From that vantage point I got to see the magic and the hard work, the beautiful and the ugly, and everything in between that goes into the selling of dreams. I will never forget the way that the smells of sugar and popcorn, the lights, and the laughter changed into a world all its own.
