About Me

I'm Marouane, a 20-year-old human from Casablanca living in Lille. Big kid. Aspiring world-citizen. Angry & committed. Iceland lover. I talk a bit too much but I'm quite cool and funny. Impatient to make my life a travel documentary and you and I would be the directors!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd like to put some faces on the cities/countries I visit, to make traveling a humanly interesting experience which will become even more unforgettable - and funny I hope. Plus it's sad if money is the boundary for those who want to move and for students who can't specially afford hotels etc (that's the major point actually haha).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is a major element of my daily life, I could write pages about it but in order not to bore you I would say (very) briefly that I like rock music in its variety (pop-rock, alternative, classic, hard, post-rock...), and calm and deep melodies (Sigur Ros, Mogwai, Dry The River, Joseph Arthur...). I'm really open to other types however (electro, movie soundtracks, folkloric/world music...).
I don't have a particular type for movies but I like when they have an impact on my mood and my thoughts (e.g. Mysterious Skin). But I also really like funny/dumb and satirical movies such as Shrek! :D
I don't read a lot since a while but I have read a book by a French-Lebanese author (Amin Maalouf) named les Jardins de Lumières (the Gardens of Light) which is kind of a call for an open humanist 'religion' and it was marking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sleeping under the Milky Way in the middle of nowhere in the Sahara, priceless!

Teach, Learn, Share

Hum I can teach you things about life, traditions, food, even swearwords of my hometown... (or French ones, but it's less funny)
I would like to learn the same about other cultures + I certainly need some cooking recipes
And I can share moments of fun, laughter and good mood, and moments of authenticity and humanity in general I guess :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Morocco, Spain, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In
