关于我

While I spent time growing up in the US, my roots are deeply Mexican, and I currently call the vibrant energy of Mexico City home. For me, life is all about the relationships we build and the shared experiences we have, rather than what we do for a living.

I'm a positive, easygoing guy who loves soaking up new cultures, practicing languages (English, Spanish, and Ukrainian), and hearing people's stories. Whether we're grabbing a good coffee, exploring a neighborhood, or chatting about philosophy, mindfulness, or everyday life, I just really value connecting with people who bring kindness and a good conversation to the table.

(Oh, and to pay the bills, I work remotely in the tech/finance world, which thankfully gives me the flexibility to travel and connect with this community!)

:: HOSTING & SURFING STYLE ::

My home is a calm, quiet space—perfect to recharge. I host (usually on weekend evenings) because I genuinely enjoy the cultural exchange. I’d love to spend some time together, whether that’s sharing a simple meal or showing you a bit of the city. That said, having traveled extensively myself, I know firsthand how exhausting long travel days can be! I completely understand and respect when you just need some quiet downtime.

I prefer a relaxed environment to connect with people, so I’m not big on parties, drinking, or smoking/substances, and I ask the same of my guests (I also can't accommodate pets). As a guest in your home, I strive to be just as considerate, tidy, and low-maintenance.

:: GOOD TO KNOW ::

I value transparency and approach Couchsurfing with the baseline expectation of genuine, platonic friendship and cultural exchange. I appreciate connections that are organic, respectful, and completely free of hidden agendas.

Hope our paths might cross on this journey!

I was born right here in Mexico City. I spent my early childhood in Mexico before moving to the US around age seven. While I’m thankful for the opportunities I had growing up there, my roots are deeply Mexican, and I'm glad to call CDMX home. For me, life is all about the relationships we build and the shared experiences we have, rather than what we do for a living.

Over the last couple of years, my perspective has shifted a lot. I used to focus heavily on structured practices and reading philosophy, but my main goal now is simply to be present. I want to live fully and be awake to the everyday moments I used to sleepwalk through. Because of this, I really value genuine connections. I absolutely love hearing about people's stories and understanding their different ways of life—fair warning, I am naturally curious and will ask a lot of questions if you're open to it!

While my baseline is definitely calm and grounded, I’ve found a really nice internal balance. I actually enjoy the vibrant, sometimes chaotic energy of traveling, meeting new people, or having a lively night out, but I always value having a peaceful space to recharge afterward. I love soaking up new cultures and practicing languages (English, Spanish, and I still know some Ukrainian!).

兴趣

When it comes to history and culture, I'm less interested in memorizing dates or visiting traditional monuments, and much more fascinated by the invisible threads that connect us. I love exploring how different cultures intertwine and learning about the shared roots of our human experience.

A lot of my personal growth recently has come from spending immersive time in nature and learning from indigenous traditions. This has deeply reinforced my respect for the earth and the importance of showing up authentically for family and friends. While I still appreciate Buddhist philosophy and meditation, my main interest now is taking those lessons off the cushion and applying them to real life—keeping things simple, grounded, and rooted in community.

For everyday leisure, I love exploring different neighborhoods at a relaxed pace, hunting down a great local coffee shop, or settling in with a thoughtful movie that leaves you with something to chew on. I am always down to grab a drink or coffee and have an unhurried, honest conversation about the things that actually matter.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Spending an extended period completely off the grid in the jungle, immersing myself in indigenous traditions and learning about Shipibo culture. Stripping away all the noise and distractions of modern life completely rewired how I experience the world. It taught me how to stop sleepwalking through life and finally be awake to the present moment.

:: WHAT I CAN OFFER / SHARE ::

I’m always happy to do a language exchange—I can easily help you practice English or Spanish (and if you happen to speak Ukrainian, I'd love to brush up!). Because I know Mexico City deeply, I can also share my favorite local spots, great coffee shops, and tips on how to navigate both the vibrant chaos and the quiet, hidden corners of the city.

More than hard skills, I offer a grounded presence and a listening ear. I love sharing unhurried time, whether that’s exploring a neighborhood together, sharing a simple meal, or just holding space for an honest, meaningful conversation.

:: WHAT I HOPE TO LEARN ::

I am incredibly eager to learn about your daily reality! Tell me about your culture, your family, and what life is actually like where you are from. I am particularly drawn to personal stories about the immigrant experience, discovering your roots, and how people build community in different parts of the world.

As I mentioned, I am naturally curious and love asking questions. I'm fascinated by how different cultures intertwine, so whether it's learning a few phrases of your language or hearing about your country's local customs, I consider it a privilege to understand the world a little better through your eyes.

As a guest, I aim to be the kind of person I’d want to host: tidy, adaptable, and deeply respectful of your routine.

I bring a calm, grounded energy to your home. I love sharing a simple meal or having an honest, unhurried conversation, but I also know how to read the room and give you your personal space. Expect a low-maintenance traveler with a genuine curiosity about your life.
