About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Seizing the moment

ABOUT ME

I'm impulsive, I love surprises and the unexpected. Just jumping in the car, not planning anything and not knowing where you'll end up, that's what I like and what I'm like :)

I call myself a Food adventurer; i like to taste new types of food i've never heard of before, which i never tried before, just bring it on (except for fried spiderlegs.. i would die in the process of eating considering my out-of-proportion arachnaphobia)

I love the smell of cinnamon and freshly cut grass and I'm addicted to dark chocolate with chili.
My life is all about good food and travelling. I have worked in a 5star luxury hotel in Abu Dhabi for 2,5 years and recently moved back to Belgium but i'm seriously missing the international environment so i'm very willing to host or meet up with all you travelers out there.

PHILOSOPHY

be open for any enriching opportunity that comes your way

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surfed couches in Italy,Spain, New Zealand, London and the Netherlands and hosted both in Belgium and Australia.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted several people both in Belgium and Melbourne. Looking forward to more experiences!

Interests

- music (listening to it, playing the piano, singing)
- food (eating it in the first place but i like to cook as well)
- art (i'm a sucker for surrealism and impressionism - Art Institute in Chicago blew my mind :))
- travelling (i don't ever want to stop doing that)
- languages - i'd like to learn as many as possible
- I kind of became a "bird nerd" whilst living in New Zealand.. apparently being able to spot weird, special, cool, rare, wacky birds makes me excited :p
- i have this feeling of being connected in some way to the desert. I love the vastness of it. Gives me an epic feeling to be standing in the middle of a desert landscape.
- dancing and jogging to keep fit (or get back fit :p)and doing the occasional multi-day walking track (NZ got me hooked!)
- love going to costume parties
- roadtrips going to everywhere and nowhere

Music, Movies, and Books

music: most genres can get my attention if something good pops up (currently listening a lot to Katchafire, Manu Chao, the Beatles and Fat Freddy's Drop)
movies: amelie poulain, spinal tap, before sunrise/before sunset, les choristes, il postino, meditteraneo, la strada, Amarcord, Mallrats, Fight Club...
books:orhan pamuk, italo svevo, angela carter, coetzee, natalia ginzburg and favorite of the moment Bill Bryson ... oh and Hosseini's The Kite Runner absolutely blew me away !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- traveling for the first time on my own all the way from belgium to california and then standing on my bare feet in the pacific ocean enjoying a beautiful sunset
- going to hawaii by myself: met some people in waikiki and the next day we were all together on a plane to maui :)
- 1 month bootcamp in the hills of south india ( Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu to be more precise ;) ) working out everyday, learning yoga and eating superhealthy (and delicious) food
- working with Conservation Volunteers in New Zealand (working right next to the river with the second clearest water in the world, see very rare birds like the Takahei, amazing surroundings every day)
- done the Kepler Track in NZ
an basically living, working and playing in New Zealand for about 9 months.
- working on very remote cattle stations in Australia
