Overview
About Me
I am born and raised in Toronto, Canada but my ancestry is from Hong Kong. Probably sounds a little cliché by now, but I love to travel. I guess I am lucky I had parents that took us on trips all the time. I’ve taken many solo trips with the longest being an Eastern Europe tour for a few months after I graduated from grad school.
Now, I am just starting my career but still trying to travel as much as possible. With these shorter trips, it’s hard to really feel like you’re “travelling” vs. going on vacation, so I try to stay in hostels and couchsurf to meet as many people as possible. After all, that’s one of the best parts of travelling. Once I save up enough money, the plan is to take an extended trip around the world.
Whenever I travel, my number one priority is always trying all the local foods that I can. Museums aren’t really my thing, but I can eat all day. I’m lucky to live in Toronto which has so many amazing restaurants. I’m not able to host any couchsurfers at my current living situation, but I am more than happy to meet up if you are in town.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meeting people is one of the best parts of travelling. I’m hoping to meet cool local people that can also give out awesome recommendations for things to do in the city. And of course, it’s also easier on the wallet so I have a bigger budget for food =P. I've hosted a few people before in Toronto that I’ve met from travelling as well, but this was before I was on couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music- I love electronic music, mostly techno. Another thing I love to do when travelling is trying to visit other techno clubs/events/fests around the world.
Books - Lately, I haven't been reading as much as I would like to but I am currently making my way through “1984” by George Orwell. My favourite book ever is actually a book I read in my childhood: The Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'd have to say the most amazing thing I've done is backpacking solo. Prior to my first trip, I really was a bit scared and very sceptical but I fell in love with it the minute I met my first friend at the hostel. It really has opened up a whole new way of seeing the world for me and I’ve met so many amazing friendships.
