About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travel the world and try to stop worrying about everything.
ABOUT ME
I'm an enthusiastic communications officer who moved to the West Coast of Canada over a year ago. Before that I worked as an au pair for a year in Finland, studied in Ottawa and grew up in (delicious) Montreal. I enjoy travelling around the world, blogging about my travel adventures, taking pictures of amazing landscapes, reading, cooking, playing the piano and jogging. I'm a very positive and dynamic person. Oh, and I love cats. Like, a lot.
PHILOSOPHY
My personal rules are: respect, common sense and smiling. It goes a really long way! I also try to see some humour or life lessons in the bad things that happen from time to time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am currently unable to host couchsurfers. On the other hand, I'd be more than happy to have a coffee with you or to discover Vancouver's cool spots in your company!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I travelled across south-west Switzerland in 2011 using Couchsurfing. I met wonderful people and families along the way and I can tell you that I won't ever book a night at the hotel anymore. The cultural exchanges were incredible and some people I met are still my friends 4 years later. I then couchsurfed again in Denmark, where I also met wonderful people that I still talk to on a regular basis :)

Music, Movies, and Books
My ideal job would be to read books full-time. Since I can't make that happen at the moment, I still try to dedicate a lot of time to reading novels. My favourite authors include Alexandre Dumas, Haruki Murakami, Jose Saramago, to name a few...
As for movies, the list would be quite long. I do have a thing for international cinema and tv series (I gotta admit, I'm a professional Netflix binger!).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walking in the Lavaux vineyards overlooking Geneva Lake and the French Alps at sunset was a beautiful, breathtaking experience. Also, being able to speak Finnish!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some French and how to cook French and Finnish delicacies! I can also give you some good book recommendations. Or even actual books, as my bookcases are too full... Or even take pictures of you (portraits, etc.) if you need them? I'm also excellent at washing dishes (and I actually enjoy it. True story.)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cooking (my friends call me the Cake Master, but I'm not bad at cooking coucous, soups, stews and innovative sandwiches, among others). French. Finnish. Anything :)
