About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live life, learn live, enjoy live, reach live, teach live.

ABOUT ME

I am enjoying life and try to live it as best as I can. I think it's important to take good care of your body and mind (sports, nutrition and reading, educating one self, converse )
People describe me as open, social, extrovert, enthusiastic and so on.
Back home I was working as a primary school teacher for a little while, but I didn't want to set my roots already before having explored the world. So in September 2014 I embarked on my big journey. I started with Thailand and after that went to Loa, Myanmar, Nepal, India, south Thailand and now New Zealand. Next stop for three month's is West Australia!

PHILOSOPHY

Live healthy and don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone (try new things!). Those are important guidelines for me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people. For whilst traveling for nine months, I discovered that the enjoyment of the journey does not lay so much with the places you visit , but with the people you meet.

Interests

I love outdoor activity's such as rock climbing, hiking, taking a dip in ice cold water ^^). But while traveling I also discovered the treasury that books can give you.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite book right now is 'The art of happiness' by the Dalai Lamar. Amazing book! It truly is a handbook for life and I think it should be mandatory on every high school to teach kids what is truly matters in live. Not just facts and skills you can use to study or work, but also insight on how to view and live life.
I also love the books of Eckhart Tolle, with ' the power of now' and 'a new earth'. Very inspiring to practise meditation and finding piece. And historic books such as 'Guns, Germs and steel' and a lot more!

Books I read in the last 7 months:
-The power of now
- A new earth
- Oneness with all life
- Bhuda' s brain
- Guns, Germs and Steel
- Animal Farm
- 1984
- The Four Agreements
- The Art of Happiness
- The Happiness Hypothesis

Novels:
- The Name Of The Wind
- The Wise Man's Fear
- Best Served Cold
- Last Arguments Of Kings
- The Blade Itself
