About Me

I quit my job in Poland and I came to Canada in May 2018 to live here for a couple of months or a year. I'd like to make the most of my stay there - meet new people, visit new incredible places and immerse myself in new culture. I see myself as an open-minded creature and kind of an octopus with many interests and professions. Do you know a term "multipotentialite"? (https://www.ted.com/talks/emilie_wapnick_why_some_of_us_don_t_have_one_true_calling) - that's me! I have an ironic sense of humor, always some stories to share and I'll do my best to be the most troublefree guest you have ever had :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Living with real people gives a totally different taste of the country that you're in than living in one of these copy-paste-like hostel rooms. I'm looking for that unique taste :-)

Interests

Ecology, animal rights, urban planning; urban activism, guerilla gardening, travelling, culture (theater and litrature mostly) and maaaany others :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

There is only one Great Book in this world: "The Street of Crocodiles and Sanatorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass" by Bruno Schulz. All the other are books. And my favourite amongst those are "Disgrace" by J.M.Coetzee, "The Same Old Story of Hunger" by J. M. G. Le Clézio, "Watermark" by Josif Brodski and all poems by Czesław Miłosz.

Movies:
"Knife in the water" (1962) by Roman Polański
"Hiroshima, my love" (1959) by Alain Resnais
"Stromboli, Land of God" (1950) by Roberto Rossellini
"In the mood for love" (2001) by Wong Kar-Wai
(and crime television series... :-)

Music - it changes too quickly :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've saved lives of many stray animals and I founded a NGO for them (https://www.facebook.com/fundacjaklebek/)
