About Me
I grew up in Minsk and as long as I can remember myself I have always been a "trier" and never liked to stick to one task. For example, I played multiple music instruments such as mandoline, xylophone, but never really mastered them. I moved on to drums, djembe, piano and guitar, but can't call myself a music God.
I Love to have a good laughter and joke around. I can be both funny and really serious, depends on the mood. I am vegetarian and won't have conversations about protein under any circumstances. I am not too talkative. I wrote this much cuz I wanna make a good impression. I love to walk and I am a traveler who won't sit still: I love exploring!
if you are really interested, here's my WHOLE BIO, enjoy:
So as a young girl, studying in a Minsk public school I was not comfortable in the environment that was offered, as it was very politically charged and our education was very propagandistic. I left my school and spent my high school years in an "underground" Belarusian Humanities Lyceum that was closed down by the president in 2003. It was a very empowering experience to be studying with the people who are passionate about learning and contributing to the fall of the regime, just like I was and still am. Lyceum gave me life-long friends and shaped me big time.
I mentioned that I like to try new things, so when Lyceum came to an end I knew I couldn't put trust into our educational system again, so (like many other kids) I looked for the options abroad and found UWC. It was perfect -- the values I stood for matched with the institution's: environmental sustainability, value of culture, acceptance, justice and more. So I joined UWCSEA (Singapore) on a full scholarship, and that was the second greatest gifts of my life. I fell in love with it and the people there, who came from all around the world. We were weird and crazy and happy, and I will forever remember those 2 years I spent in one of the hottest and richest places I've been to.
After UWC, I joined a program called Global Citizen year and went to Senegal where I spent over 7 moths. That was SUCH an eye-opening experience, as I was thrown in an absolutely unfamiliar environment and had to learn so many basic things all over again. But I deeply loved the host family I lived with and was absolutely moved by Senegal.
Currently I study Art History, Painting and Politics at Bennington College, VT.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think living with the local people instead of getting a hotel room is much much more of an immersing experience. I enjoy "uncomfortable" ways of traveling and also cheep ones.
I also have been hosted for 7 months by a traditional Senegalese family and can only say good things about this experience. I am very careful when it comes to someone's property, I am very respectful, don't smoke or get drunk at someone's place without permission. I will be as perceptive and as responsible as possible. I can't host you cuz I don't have my own space and I share it with my parents, I'm sorry, but i'm willing to show you around my city!

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite performance artist would be Marina Abramovič. She's my role model. Absurdism and Theatre of Cruelty are fire.
Music: the style of music I listen to revolves around Radiohead. I also love Afro now (especially West African).
I have also been painting for a while and I got quite confident at expressing myself through that media. Oil and watercolor only + pencil and liners
Movies: I don't think I had time to involve myself in this brunch of art recently. But I am always down for a good film. I don't like super-hero shit, that don't sound attractive (except for The Dark Knight and Black Panther, of course). And don't ask me who my fav director is don't embarrass me please.
Books: have been into non-fiction recently.
