About Me

UPDATE: I just moved to Berlin and I'm currently unable to host you neither here nor in Poznan, I'm sorry!

I graduated with a master in logistics at Poznan University of Technology. I do work in transport and logistics, but it's definitelly not my dream job. I'm still trying to find myself in this world.

Travelling is my big passion. While visiting new places I prefer focusing on nature and on meeting the locals, avoiding the 'top things to do'. I also like coming back to the same places I've already been to and discover their new faces.

After spending 5 months in South Italy I feel close to the Italian way of life and even closer to its food.

I believe that positive energy and smile can rule the world. I always try to stay optimistic and to share good vibes with people I meet. People say I smile a lot. Why not, life is great!

I fully believe that everything in our life happens for a reason. And "If you can dream it, you can do it"!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is an amazing way to explore the new places from locals' side, to get to know the different culture and to meet interesting people. But on the other hand - if you're hosting someone, you can learn something also about your city, take a look on it as a traveler and appreciate it much more. I simply love this idea!

When I look back into all my Couchsurfing experiences, most of them were absolute highlights of my trips made to many different countries. You can not get the full impression of a new place unless you have the direct contact with the locals. And Couchsurfing is simply the best and easiest way to do so.

Interests

Food is my big passion. I have spent years travelling and putting the biggest emphasis on exploring new places through the local flavors. Only recently I have found out, that it is actually called formally 'culinary tourism'. As a local patriot I was always into showing tourists visiting Poland its undiscovered beauty and amazing Polish food.

As a result, my brother, his gfriend and myself created recently a project called FORKLORE, which aims to share the love to Polish culture and Polish food mainly with foreginers visiting our country. You can check us out on www.forkloretour.com or www.facebook.com/forkloretour

My heart reaches another level of happiness as soon as I put on my hiking boots and a backpack. Mountains are my favorite place I escape to each time I feel like having a break from every-day live.

I start every day with a short yoga session and it is the best way to take up my body and mind. I also like dancing, currently trying to improve my salsa skills.

I prefer being tired of doing many things much more than chilling and doing nothing.

I used to work in many different professions and have to say that my favorite ones were based on meeting new people from all over the world and having conversations with them, about everything.

And I love dogs. Especially big dogs.

Music, Movies, and Books

Unless I'm out in nature, I always have to have some music played in the background. The type depends fully on my current mood. Spotify would categorizes it as Indie, Rock, Jazz, Electro music.

The National, The Cinematic Orchestra, Archive, Bon Iver, Icelandic music like Olafur Arnalds and Sigur Ros - those would be the most frequent ones I listen to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every trip makes beautiful memories and teach me someting about the world and about myself.
The passion to travelling was born after my first self-organised trip and the first couchsurfing experience in Rome, where I fell in love with this city.

I got to visit most of European countries on a budget while still being a student. And within 5 years I managed to live for some time in 5 different countries.

I lost a piece of my heart in Iceland and I got addicted to coming back to this magical Planet. I made my dream come true staying there for 3 weeks feeding sheep (I must have been a sheep in my past live) and observing northern lights.

I had an unforgettable time on "workaway" in Switzerland renovating an old barnhouse with 20 other people from all over the world. Another piece of my heart was left there too.

One of the best times of my life I definitely had during my Erasmus in Bari. I met there sooo many amazing people, which became my close friends.

Another great experience was also working in a hostel in Vienna. Being a receptionist was definitely one of my favorite jobs I've had - meeting people from all over the world and helping them having a great time was giving me an incomparable happiness!

Recently I'm proud of making another dream coming true and creating my own business - FORKLORE.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you to cook traditional Polish cuisines and I can talk for hours about Polish food and traditions. If you'll be visiting Poznań, I can take you to the best places serving regional food and locally made alcohol and show you the untouristic part of my favorite city.

If I'll be staying with you, I'd be more than happy to try your regional food and even happier by helping you to make some local dishes.

I'm always eager to learn new words in different languages, although unfortunately it doesn't mean, that I'll remember them...

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm living with my brother in a flat, where we can offer a couch. If we are free, we always try to spend some time with couchsurfers, to go out together and to show them the city and our Polish culture.
