About Me

Hi guys :)

I'm Marta, I'm an Illustrator, Artist and concept designer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is great in order to meet new people and get to know a culture up close, plus staying with a native person is great to learn new languages or new recipes (yum!)
On the other side, I love the fact that all the people I met in Couchsurfing are open and easy going, it shows how nice people of the world can be.

Interests

I love my job (weirdly enough), hiking, enjoying nature, swimming, cooking, meeting new people and cultures, learning new languages... and of course, traveling ;).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music-wise I love Foo Fighters, Royal Blood, Aimer, Kana Boon, game soundtracks, movie soundtracks.... A bit of everything, basically. :)

Movies, oh... well... Whoever you are that's read this, go watch Perfect Blue and Millenium Actress and Paprika, even if you hate anime, do it right now.

And books wise, I'm currently reading American Gods, and it's incredible!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going to work in a country completely alone (no friends, family, etc) and end up sane(ish) :D Well done me!

I also did canopy on Monteverde, Tarzan Jumping (at the same place) and lasted less than 1 second over a surfing board ;) (after that the surfing board was angry at me and hit my thigh quite hard, letting me unable to surf again... for the day)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach drawing lessons, Spanish, Catalan and maybe some English and some amazing recipes I've been learning from the countries I've visited or lived.

I would love to learn new recipes (the more traditional the better :) ), a new language (or at least the bad words), your traveling experiences or your illustration techniques if you are an artist as well :D.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook something (my specialty: Mediterranean food and getting proficient at Costa Rican food, my Tico boyfriend approves), I can also share some travel information in case my host wants to go to a country I've visited :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Panama, Poland, Romania, Scotland, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia, United Kingdom
