Arriving in Quito (Ecuador): I was delighted to see Native people - I thought I'd only see Indians in movies! ; to discover all kind of fruits and vegetables I'd never heard about before, always available in the streets and at a very low price; more generally, to explore all the city's contrasts, like the juxtaposition of old and modern times.
