About Me

Hi everyone!
My name is Isabel and I'm 23, I graduated in March at the University of Bologna (which makes me so proud because it's the oldest in the world!) in Foreign Languages and Literatures (English and Dutch) and I'm about to start studying English and American Studies (Master degree) at the University of Turin.
I'm curious about kind of everything, I'm open-minded and I love to see the world from different points of view. You can talk with me about everything, I have an opinion (most of the time naive and modest) on everything but I'm not judgemental, I'm just trying to understand what is that really catches me: I'm in an experimental phase of my life that makes me aware of my surronding and makes me want to see more. This is why I travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a dreamer and a traveller even when I'm at home, I spend hours organizing travels that I never do and I hope that couchsurfing could help me achieve some of my forbidden travel dreams!
I'm also interessed in meeting people all around the world and discovering things; travelling solo as a girl can be difficult and maybe couchsurfing could be the best option to overcome some difficulties.

Interests

I'm a simple girl with weird interests: I'm pretty much a beginner in every hobby I have and that's because I always start something so enthusiastically but then I find something new that catches my interest...the disadvantages of being a wondering soul.
By the way, I love:
- embroidery;
- singing;
- writing fiction (random thoughts, I used to write novels but I have lost this ability sigh);
- reading reading reading (I'm a foreign literatures student);
- doodling;
- happily playing my ukulele (and trying to understand the strumming aaaaarg);
- drinking tea;
- taking pictures (I have an analogic Nikon);
- organizing things (I love to organize parties and travels for my friends, I think it's kind of a talent);
- learning new things;
- talking about things I don't know;
- being sarcastic as hell;
- cooking things and be surprised by my self-made not-poisoning food (italian cuisine is by my side);
- giving people gifts without a reason and make everyone happy.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC
I have a thing for indie music, any kind of indie music (my favourite ones are pop, folk, upbeat and acoustic) but I enjoy any kind of music and I'm very curious about anything.
Favourite artists: Vampire Weekend (I have a tattoo on my arm because of one of their songs, "Hannah Hunt"), Mumford and Sons, Coldplay, Sleeping at Last, Death Cab For Cutie, Paramore, Ingrid Michaelson, Two Door Cinema Club.

MOVIES
I like mostly indie movies (Wes Anderson style) but I'm okay with everything, from sci-fi to classics.
Favourite movies: Moonrise Kingdom, Grand Budapest Hotel, Nymphomaniac, Shining, Her.

*TV SHOWS
I would like to add this section because I'm literally addicted on some tv series and if you're a fan of these I will love you unconditionally: Game of Thrones, The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, My Mad Fat Diary, Video Girl Ai, Please Like Me.

BOOKS
Books are literally my life and fiction is my daily bread (and now I don't know if it's an italian common saying or what), but I'm exploring non-fiction literature (for example, Westerman or Minco).
Favourite books: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Foer, Twice Born by Mazzantini, Don't Move by Mazzantini, Lullaby by Palahniuk.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- voluteerism in France building wooden little houses;
- graduation trip in Berlin and Amsterdam (where I fell in love with Dutch culture);
- getting a tattoo in Prague;
- going on a solo travel in Holland, my favourite place in the world;
- internship in teaching Italian at the University of Durham.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can try to teach you something but I'm so clumsy ew. Anyway, I can try to teach you how to cook something (like pasta, the most typical italian cliché), some embroidery for beginners and I can tell you strange facts on things that nobody wants to hear.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share kindness, an open mind and an open heart, laughs and a cute attitude.
