About Me

I'm open-minded, chatty and always ready to explore new things person. I love to meet people, get to know new cultures and I'm always looking for inspiring conversations. Well probably I'm full of contradictions, for instance I can party all night long and I love crowds, but nevertheless I can't imagine lack of evenings when I can just turn on some TV series or movie and hide from world under my pinkish blanket. I love to start a day with cup of hot coffee, I'm almost always listening to music, I love cats, my awesome cactus, I started to like purple color, I can't imagine life without my friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the whole idea of Couchsurfing. Of course I was always too afraid to take backpack and just discover the world by myself, so I haven't got any occasion to stay in many places or to host somebody, but I heard only positive things from my friends and I'm looking foward to be engaged in it more.

Interests

I was volunteer since I was 7 yo. I started with social help and then I got opportunity to be a part of big, sport, international events. I realized that organizing events is something what I'm the most passionate in my life. Not being sport journalist as I thought before ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Indie rock, alternative, indie pop, acoustic rock, tropical house, chillout but I'm open for any kind of music actually. When I was younger I was listening to harder staff.
I've got so many favourite movies, from differ species, so it's hard to say! But Lion King forever

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had traumatic fear of flying, although my mother lives in England.
I couldn't overcome it, simply because I was panicky afraid. A year ago, I had the strangest period of my life. I started to do more, to change something in my life and in my approach to it. I was spontaneous and happier.
When, as usual, I couldn't decide on something I started to simply say something as "yolo" and just done it.
One winter evening I went out with the girls to the pub and my friend from college asked me: "Marta how much are you yolo?". I said: "Recently, quite significantly".
"You're coming with us to Fuerteventura?" - She asked.
Where? I have no money... when? How? Where it is? But what's going on? I was of course too scared.
But... only that same night I decided, however, that'll do it. Five and a half hour of first flight in my life, instead of one and a half hour to England to visit my mom? Why not. After all, in most cases, the biggest barrier for us, there are things that we tell ourselves. I had motion sickness, my brother doesn't tolerate flights due to the pressure, so I just assumed that while flying I'll die. Until, you know, I've done it. I flew, just like that, just because I decided to do that.
The first flight in my life for me was just fantastic. I'm a bit strange. This flight has provided me a lot of the higher emotions. All the aesthetic, flying through the clouds, the views, but also, and perhaps mainly defeat my trauma. I limited myself. It turned out that I have no trauma. It turned out that I love to fly.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some Polish, I'm good at it, I can cook some vegetarian+Polish dish, I'll gladly learn new words or/and practice languages that I'm learning or new ones. Oh I would learn how to dance, because I can't really do it, but I love to do that.
I'm open to movies/music recommendations. I would learn more about history, culture and you. I also love British accent!
I can share with you my communication skills and I'm talking really a lot when I'm in mood to do that ;)
