Informazioni generali
Chi sono
My name is Marta, I'm Portuguese, and for most of the time I live and work in Lisbon, Portugal. Until 2021 I had a film production company with 3 friends, also based in Lisbon, and even if they were some incredible years, I almost didn't travel, and if I did, it would be work related. For all that time we all had to be grown ups with bureaucratic responsibilities, but I'm happy to say I'm done with that part of my life. Currently I'm focused on investing my time towards directing films, and on every other thing that comes with it (producing, design, writing, photography, painting, animation, etc). The idea is to experiment new ways of doing the same things, every day.
Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing
I've travelled using couchsurfing with a friend, when I was 19, all across Europe, and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. Everyone was very welcoming, people that I would never have met if it wasn't for couchsurfing. Ten years later, I decided I would like to repeat the experience. I decided to stop flying if I can find alternative routes, because of the obvious consequences for the climate. It's also a lot more expensive to travel by train in Europe, even more if you don't have a stable job and an expressive income, as it's my case. For that reason, and because I can't stop travelling as it's the only medicine I need for my brain, I decided to find alternatives for places to stay for a night or two, and make friends on the way.
Musica, film e libri
I'll go with the first ones that pop into my mind: "Dr. Strangelove" by Kubrick, "Manifesto" by Julian Rosefeldt, "Punch Drunk Love" by Paul Thomas Anderson, "A Woman Under The Influence" by Cassavetes.
Books: "Humankind" and "Utopia for Realists" by Rutger Bregman, "Hitchcock Truffaut" by Truffaut.
Music: Lately I've been into lyrical singing. And also mixes between classical composers and electronic music.
Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto
It's quite some pressure to evaluate yourself, and to call amazing to something that maybe will not be that giant. I can say maybe it was to finally, after years and years of dreaming about it, to finally have my van transformed, with a big part of the materials being recycled. It's quite clichê nowadays, but it doesn't count since I've been wanting to make this since I was a kid. It's not my fault everyone in the west had the same brilliant idea.
Insegna, impara, condividi
