About Me

I moved to New York a few years ago and I'm probably not leaving anytime soon.

Like everyone else on this site, I love traveling, but my wallet doesn't love it to the same extent. And I know you all feel the same way!

My current work is pretty flexible about scheduling, so I can show you around the city, if you'd like. But it's totally fine if you enjoy the solo experience!

¡Hablo español también! No soy hablante nativo (sí, mi nombre es español, porque mi mamá es guatemalteca), aunque si quieres me puedes enviar un mensajge en español.

I place emphasis on the "maybe" in "maybe accepting guests" since I have roommates to contend with, so if you message me, please tell me as much as you can about your when your trip will happen and how long it will be. I hope to meet you soon, whoever you are!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It makes traveling so much more fun and embeds you deep in the experience of being in a place. Couchsurfing made my last trip even more unforgettable. Plus, we all get to save money.

Interests

I really like learning things: history, geography, why things are the way they are and why they happen.

Other interests: cities, politics, culture, design, architecture, video games (PC only!), and a little bit of photography.

Music, Movies, and Books

If I described my taste in music in one word, it might be "weird". I like finding music that surprises me. Death Grips is a perennial favorite, and lately I've listened to a lot of Brockhampton and Edvard Grieg. Very eclectic.

I never have time to read books because I'm normally reading something online instead. But when it comes to books, I almost always read non-fiction: history and theory mainly. I've been reading David Graeber lately and it's good stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took a bus from Mexico to Guatemala and made it in one piece, though not without being extorted at border control because of my US passport.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll answer all your questions about the United States or New York. And I would love to talk about the differences in our cultures and history. Even the littlest differences fascinate me.

Countries I’ve Visited

Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Canada, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Montserrat, Uruguay
