Overview
About Me
Hi,
I lived in London for most of my life, and long-story short, became pretty unhappy working full-time in the Corporate scene... It felt purposeless and empty; like I was part of a machine, trapped in an office all day doing something that I didn't enjoy, breathing in fumes from the city, and coming home after sun-down, to have no free time to explore my passions.
I became more conscious and sold most of my possessions, trained to be an English teacher, and left the UK in August 2018. I spent 5 months in Italy in the mountains, then moved on to Thailand. I re-discovered the magic of life, started practicing yoga and meditation, and volunteered at an animal shelter.
Activism is also a prominent part of my life, and I am currently working on a documentary about exploitation in Thailand's coconut industry. In my spare time I like to read, hike, swim, hang out with animals, draw, make videos, take photographs, do yoga, cook, and write. I am in a very curious stage of my life and love learning new skills.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Having a sense of community is an important value of mine. I'm looking forward to someday having my own place and hosting people too.
Connecting with others creates fulfillment - I love to meet different types of people, to share experiences and wisdom, and to exploring. Also, staying with someone local gives you an entirely different experience of travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
Very open minded, it depends on my mood. Not a fan of labels... Reggae, Acoustic, Alternative, Indie, Folk, and occassionally Jungle-Crank-Bass-Trip-Pop-Bubble ;)
Movies:
AMERICAN HISTORY X, NOCTURNAL ANIMALS, A GHOST STORY, FIGHT CLUB, MULHOLLAND DRIVE, INGLORIOUS BASTARDS, MEET THE MILLERS, DJANGO, THE WOLF OF WALL STREET, INCEPTION, THE DARK KNIGHT, KILL BILL, 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU, THE PIANIST, JONAH HILL...
Books:
Mostly non-fiction, but I'm a slow reader so I prefer audiobooks. THE BEAUTY MYTH by NAOMI WOLF, WHY WE LOVE DOGS, EAT PIGS, AND WEAR COWS by MELANIE JOY, FEARING THE BLACK BODY: THE RACIAL ORIGINS OF FAT PHOBIA by SABRINA STRINGS, HEALING THE SHAME THAT BINDS YOU by JOHN BRADSHAW, NATIVES: RACE AND CLASS IN THE RUINS OF EMPIRE by AKALA, THE POWER OF NOW by ECKHART TOLLE, THE FOUR AGREEMENTS by DON MIGUEL RUIZ, FIGHT LIKE A GIRL by CLEMENTINE FORD, THE HUMAN MAGNET SYNDROME: WHY WE LOVE PEOPLE WHO HURT US by ROSS ROSENBERG, have all been life-changers.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Kayaked into the sunset in St Lucia, lay down and put my feet up, stayed there until dark and saw shooting stars.
Witnessed a cat get badly hit by a motorcycle, took him on my lap for an hour to the animal hospital... once he miraculously recovered, I found him a new home in the mountains.
