About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To influence the way we interact with the built environment, bringing people together and recreating the sense of community that has been lost in so much of the western world
ABOUT ME
I'm small so I don't take up much space, I am clean and easy going. If you say adventure I say hell yeah! I want to live a life that is filled with experiences not stuff, I choose to spend my money traversing the world, meeting people, learning and sharing. There will never be a point in my life where I will claim that I have learned enough or experienced enough, there is always something new to discover. My travels up to this point have really humbled me as a human being, our world is full of extraordinary things; nature, architecture and people, I feel privileged to have the opportunity to travel, witness and appreciate the wonders of the world.
I am also a writer, you can check out my blog: http://selfmademartha.wordpress.com/about/
PHILOSOPHY
Each of us only has one set of eyes to view this world but when we meet people and share their stories we open ourselves up to seeing the world through many different lenses, this is how we learn. Never limit yourself and always be open to having your thoughts challenged, if we become too attached to what we know we become stagnant and stop growing
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been so fortunate to have found wonderful hosts to accommodate me in my travels, as I begin to establish my career I too will be able to offer the same hospitality that has been shown me to others.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My couchsurfing hosts have thus far been wonderful. Just the process of finding a host in different cities is an opportunity to interact with people you may never have had the chance to know. From Portugal to Italy to Switzerland and many other places I have had a wonderful time meeting the people who make each city.
Interests
I love travelling, working out, a little bit of surfing, books(both reading and writing). I can appreciate art and love discovering the history and culture of different places.

Music, Movies, and Books
Oscar Wilde is by far one of my favourite writers, The Happy Prince brings me to tears each time I read it. Jane Austen, John Galsworthy, Bryce Courtney, Tim Winton, George Orwell all comprise some of my favourite writers. In terms of books we would need a few pages to cover my top picks.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I climbed a live volcano in Tanna, Vanuatu which was pretty amazing. I also lived in South Africa for a year on my own doing volunteer community service in a few townships which offered me many amazing experiences. I traveled solo for 4 months in 2013, I've been to two Fifa world cups -South Africa 2010 and Brasil 2014. I think I have more than one amazing thing and I hope I will continue to add to the list.
