Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Besides the savings (we are both freelance artists always watching the bottom line) it's for the sense of community and understanding. I believe that people are mostly wonderful and that we must exercise the muscle of getting along together and being a good neighbor. Not that I don't like the idea of a fancy hotel here and there. Of course that's nice sometimes. We live in a fourplex where we all share gardening and rubbish duties. It only takes a little effort the make the place nicer for us all. I'm thinking by being a good and decent guest we can all benefit a little and be happier in a general sense.

Music, Movies, and Books

Addicted to sci fi. Devoured Isaac Asimov as a kid, These days I get stuck reading softare tutorials too often. And self help books. Recently reread Frankenstein - beautifully written phraseology, a different way of turning a phrase than today. Sometimes I read to Natasha for our mutual entertainment. Fantasy, Sci fi, romance.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There's a certain amount of serendipity in the world. Sometimes we don't know at the time when we're doing the amazing thing. Sometimes the thing we strive for diligently doesn't turn out so great. Or other times, something that comes easily really ends up providing amazing fruits. My only gold record is for a song on the Princess Diaries 2 soundtrack. It was like so many others, just a song for a scene. But to make it more unusaul it was to be sung in Chinese. I had zero expectations of anything other than a basic job occurring. Yet by chance it was included on the soundtrack album and went gold. Here's to never knowing when we're doing that "amazing" thing!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't mind doing chores around the house. We'll cook you dinner or treat you to a meal out. We cook pretty simply at home. Coconut oil cause it's supposed to be healthier. Natasha is fluent in Russian and can help you practice if you are studying that language.
