Hey! I am Martin from Hungary, currently being in Germany with Rebeka, my fiancée. We like to travel and so we explored many places both in Hungary and abroad. So far we have visited 15 and 19 countries respectively, touching 3 continents in the meantime. Previously we spent 9 months in Portugal together where she was on Erasmus, while I was working remotely.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are here for the same reason we travel the world. To meet people, make new friends and to gain knowledge about different countries (places, culture, language, gastronomy, traditions, everyday life and the list goes on).

Music, Movies, and Books

Open to everything, regardless of genre but here are a few favourites:
- Music: rock, pop, hip-hop, jazz, electronic, regional (Latin, Caribbean, African, etc.)
- Movies: animated, comedy, drama, western... I am obsessed with movies, I also studied film in university. Big fan of the work of Eastwood (both as an actor and as a director), Scorsese, Kurosawa, Hitchcock, Nolan, Tarantino. Love the Godfather, LOTR and Back to the Future trilogies, 12 Angry Men, spaghetti westerns and many more.
- Series: mainly comedies (Friends, TBBT, HIMYM) but dramas as well (Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Last of Us).
- Books: novels, adventure, travel, self-development, language learning

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

None of them are amazing, I suppose, but a few things that comes to my mind:
- Hiking in high mountains with fear of heights :-)
- Driving in rural Morocco in the night
- Sleeping in airports many times
- Being awake for 50+ hours during a HUN-UAE trip, including a 15 km walk in Dubai during the night
- Completing a 100 km long hiking (walking for 23 hours continuously) and many other long-distance trails
