Just discovered this site (IDK how it took me so long). Looking to meet locals and expats that could share insights.

Interests

I can bore people to tears talking about politics and international relations. Beyond my obsession with my field of study, I dabble in art history, as a massive ancient history geek (especially Roman). I would be lying if I said I didn’t plan my travels around museums and art galleries and historical sites.

In the outdoors, I love to hike. I am a former snowboarding coach so I’m decent at the slopes. I have a PADI Open Water certificate and would jump at the opportunity to dive.

Music, Movies, and Books

LotR, GoT, Brooklyn 99, The Office are damn good. Used to be okay at the violin and viola, so classical music is my jam. Also indie and pop. I don’t read enough these days beyond Audible but love political stuff. 1984, Why Nations Fail, blah blah blah.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don’t think I can peak floating down the Amazon river surrounded by jungle and miles from civilization. I’m working on proving myself wrong.

I have a passion for cooking and believe it’s an excellent vector for cultural exchange. Besides, who doesn’t like good food? I don’t pinch pennies when it comes to eating.
