Hi! I'm a recent college graduate currently travelling through Asia. According to my friends, my two distinguishing features are that I'm tall and goofy, although personally I prefer to think of myself as tall and incredibly handsome (feel free to refer to my pictures to form your own opinion). I'm always looking to experience new things, and love it when people invite me to see new places, taste new food, or hear new music. Basically all I want to do is see the world and make new friends like you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet locals, make friends, and experience new things! After staying in hostels for a while I noticed that I was just hanging out with other backpackers. And while I love backpackers (seems like every single one of them is super chill), I feel like I can learn so much from locals about their country and culture! So let's be friends!

Interests

Food: I love food. And I will try basically anything for new experiences. That being said I particularly enjoy sweets and baked goods, and I will love you forever if you introduce me to something sweet and sugary that I haven't had before.

Computer games: I love playing computer games although I don't really get to doing it much (especially not when I'm travelling - there's almost always something else to do). But if you're a gamer I'd really enjoy just talking about anything gaming related. I especially enjoy playing League of Legends and am an avid follower of the LOL championship series.

Sports: I play basketball (I'm really tall, so it's quite easy for me), but in the past I also played volleyball, handball, and water polo. In college, I was the captain of Harvard's Quidditch Team (yup - that's the sport from Harry Potter).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love classical music (right now I especially like Tchaikovsky), Doo Wop songs from the Motown era, and anything really fun and upbeat (such as One Direction, Vampire Weekend, Beyonce and MIKA).

Movies: I watch way too many movies, but I think all Pixar and Disney films have a special place in my heart. My favourite Disney movie is probably Aladdin - the songs are just soooo catchy. My favourite movie of all times is probably Forrest Gump.

Books: I love reading fantasy novels and thrillers. My favourite series of all times is probably the Harry Potter series. Apart from that I also really enjoyed reading Jonathan Stroud (the Bartimaeus Series) and recently I've been trying to get my Shakespeare on, so I finished Romeo & Juliet, as well as Hamlet (so cultured!).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmmmm. I fixed a toilet seat the other day. That's pretty awesome if you ask me.

Teach, Learn, Share

Did you know that polar bears can eat up to 117 penguins in one sitting? Look! You learned something!

I can teach Economics and Biology if you're interested in that kind of thing (did tutoring on that kind of stuff all throughout college). I'm also more than happy to speak with you for hours if you just want to practice English or German.

Websites: I've set up a few at this point and can definitely try to help with yours. I wouldn't consider myself an expert though (most of my experience is focussed on PHP, although I'm also decent at JavaScript, D3, MySQL and OCaml).

What I Can Share with Hosts

My good looks and breathtaking humor. Apart from that I'd be happy to help with any of the things in my teach, learn, share section. I can set up simple Wordpress websites for you in an hour or so (but you're going to have to do the content and all the busy work at the end :-)).
