Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Many different things can be found online with regard to local sights and experiences, but I would like to hear from locals to their suggestions; this includes the good things, but also which things to avoid.
I do not see much appeal to merely booking a hotel in a place of travel, then to isolate myself when I could be connecting with locals and seeing what life is like in the place they call home.

Music, Movies, and Books

Kygo is easy to listen to but that doesn't mean I don't know a few Kanye songs off by heart.

I'm a fan of documentaries, action movies, and would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the occasional rom-com.
Favourite movie has got to be Blood Diamond

As strange as may be, I like reading medical books and journals for leisure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

"Scrubbed in" to do several shadowing shifts within labour and delivery and the operating room. Also witnessed several electroconvulsive therapy sessions (they are not like what the movies make them out to be).

Beach rescue lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons have been very gratifying experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am happy to listen to and share stories one another's stories of travel and experiences. I can be of help with work around the house and teach people the basics of swimming if they are so inclined! :) I can help with groceries and prepare a small range of meals. I am always up for a new adventure.
