About Me

I am a 32 year old from South Wales, UK. I left UK in 2015 & have so far travelled to Malaysia, Thailand (x2), Laos, Vietnam(x2), Cambodia, Australia & Taiwan. My next stops are India, Bulgaria & back to Cambodia.

A few interesting things I have done in my travels include:

a) Motorcycling the length of Vietnam with a baby chicken;

b) Bicycling & camping around all of Taiwan.

c) Volunteered at vegan pay-as-you-feel cafe Lentil as Anything in Melbourne, Australia

d) FIFA soccer referee in Melbourne, Australia

e) Lived on a jungle farm on the cusp of a national park in Cambodia, helping to relocate plants from local development sites.

I am a fluent English language speaker and consider myself a progressive liberal/left-wing character with a strong moral compass centering around issues such as environmentalism, sustainability, human/animal rights, permacultue & co-creation.

My primary passion is probably music - I play a variety of instruments (not at all very well but enthusiastically!) but I also enjoy all aspects of the arts, sports, science, nature, history, philosophy...

I can find a fascination in pretty much anything - we live on a fascinating planet inhabited by fascinating creatures! I live with the agenda of sharing and expand those fascinations with beautiful people with my intention to improve others around me as I improve myself :-)

I have a UK Bachelors degree in Law with Honours, specialising in International Human Rights. I practised as a solicitor & worked at a university in England as an academic disability support worker for six years prior to leaving.

I consider myself to be an ethical consumer wherever possible/practicable and so I am extremely amenable to vegetarians and vegan households.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a highly personable and sociable individual who gets drawn in by the passions of others - I am all about the shared experiential!

My preference is to avoid 'tourist traps' whilst travelling & very much like to meet people who can introduce me to local activities/pursuits in exchange for me contributing whatever I can that is of use to my host.

A peaceful but active soul & would love to get involved in some form of knowledge/skills-exchange.

Couchsurfing is a great opportunity to meet new people & hopefully provide a positive contribution by sharing/exchanging skills/knowledge.

A firm believer in 'earning my keep' I enjoyed making vegan food & masses of tea for the large groups of friends that stay with me at Bristol, England UK on weekends for gigs/concerts/parties/festivals/raves etc.

A firm believer in trying anything twice & always enthusiastic about trying new things!

Life is an adventure and Couchsurfing a very beautiful adventure in itself!

Music, Movies, and Books

I cannot really pick out music/movies/books as I pretty much love all music from any era and culture!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have set up & coordinated The Psychedelic Society of Bristol which puts on a host of different events in the community (currently over 500 members) to get together & share their passions through shared experiential activities & shared knowledge.

Previous events have included speaking events/conferences with world leading Neurologists/Psychologists/Psychiatrists, large-scale picnics, foraging activities, film screenings, music gigs, literature events etc.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English language, guitar (beginner), ukulele (beginner), beginner bass guitar (beginner), juggling (1-3 items), events management & social media.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Mi casa su casa! Everything I have I share! My ukulele, my juggling balls, my body my brain & my soul! I love to help people& to develop new/improved skills alongside them.

I also make a rather excellent cup of tea!
