About Me

I'm a young student from Berlin. I love to travel and am taking trips to new places as often as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Staying with locals is much more interesting than just staying in a hostel and doing all this touristic-stuff all day long. There is just so much more to learn, to see, to share.

And I did couchsurfing already a few times with my girlfriend and we've met so many good people, who made our stay so special and individual. We were for example in Barcelona, Madrid, London and did a couple of places in Germany. Afterwards I created my own account and did in Germany once again and Utrecht, Netherlands.

That was already quite a while ago, since I was travelling around staying in Hostels or my camper for a couple of years now.

So, I hope I can do this now again to meet all of you guys out there! ;)

Interests

Travel, watching movies, eating good food, trying to cook good food, football (or soccer), urban exploration . . .

I just like to do fun stuff as much as possible. I never really tried things out or did much until, let's say, my early 20s. So I try to keep up now a little bit and wanna get a diving pass (did scuba diving once so far) or learn surfing.

That is also one of the reasons I want to couch surf now a little bit more. It was nice and easy staying in hostels and I definitely enjoyed it a lot but I really want to explore the countries now with its people as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies! I love to talk about films, scenes and characters. There are so many good movies I've watched and I will watch!! For example 'Snatch', 'A Serouis Man' or 'Interstellar' are three of my favourite films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's more a crazy story than a particularly good one. But definitely a hell of an experience and good life lesson!

When I was travelling around Australia with my car, doing a road trip on the west coast, I had all kinds of people as travel mates. It was beautiful and so much fun going to all those awesome places with folks from everywhere with all their life stories and good laughs together.
I guess I was too naive sometimes trusting everyone straight away. Right at the end, when I nearly finished my trip after a couple of months, I gave that one guy a lift and he joined me for 3 days. On the last day, just before we nearly made it to place we wanted to go, he crashed my car. It was a beautiful and sunny day around noon. There was no traffic, no animal crossing the street, nothing. Just a straight street and for some reason he lost control over the car and we flipped over a couple of times. The paramedics told us later that they've never seen an accident and a car screwed over like that and then the passengers walking around like nothing happened. We were really lucky and I for myself have just a tiny scar on my arm from the shattered glas as a souvenir.
The paramedics took me to the nearest town and told me that the police is on it's way and is going to deal with my travel mate. Next day I found out they never did and the guy just disappeared. I lost my car and nearly all my stuff and the police didn't care about it.
I probably did a lot of mistakes back then and so lost quite a bit of money. So far to the tragic part of that story.
But at least I was alive and well. I still can't believe that nobody got hurt or anything. I've got so much support from people afterwards, my friends in Australia or back home, my family and strangers, who helped me out. I mean there was that one dude who did that to me but on the other hand there were so many people helping me in all sorts of ways that I can't really regret making the mistake trusting that guy. I guess it kinda made me who I am now a little bit and I am glad that I can still do all the things that make me happy.
