ABOUT ME

Hi, My name is Martin and I love travelling. My most favourite destination so far has been Japan, I plan to visit it again soon. Other destinations I have been lucky to visit are mostly European countries and China.

I work as programmer while looking for an opportunity to make a living as an artist.

I'm not a frequent traveller but hen I do travel I do my best to make it count and stay in the country I visit for as long as possible. I like to get in touch with local people and experience the culture beyond just common sightseeing.
My longest travel so far has been a year in Japan, followed by six months in China.

CURRENT MISSION

Find balance in my life
Be more disciplined, less procrastinate and pursue my passion which is among other things making art.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to Couchsurfing , so I have no experience yet. Bear with me. But if you want to know how I've heard about it for the first time, I can tell you.

MY MOTIVATIONS

what I appreciated most about my previous long term stays abroad was the fact that I have been able to meet interesting people, stay with them in their house and experience how they go about their daily life.

I may not be so lucky to live in another country for so long ever again, but with couchsurfing I can still get a similar experience or offer this experience to other people if they find my location interesting enough to come and visit.

MY FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH COUCHSURFING

The first time I have heard about couch surfing was from one german guy, I met on a train, couple of years ago. He was a talkative fellow so we soon became pretty friendly. I remember it was a bit tricky to figure out what he meant when saying he was a couchsurfer. The only think I could imagine at that moment was him lying on a couch scaling a giant wave while holding a beer in one hand a TV controller in the other. While highly fascinating, that idea seemed kind of unlikely. Fortunately with a bit of explanation I came to understand what the meaning of couchsurfing actually was and I liked it.

I just wish day would have more than 24hours, I never have enough time to do everything I would want to. Currently my biggest interests are:

Concept art - I plan to become a pro
